So, I'm thinking about my options. Yes I know there are three listed below and three need to be chosen, but I'm thinking of Innovation too. I'm looking for any pearls of wisdom or recomendations.

Anyway, what can you tell me about Psycology/Computer Applications/Japanese Language & culture?

I'd imagine she got that. You know 'talented' and all that?

How about a description of it?

    Oooo, ICE BURN

    Fishie: S'on the webby
    Innovation

    Available: Session 1 ONLY
    Code: INN1
This course is designed to introduce students to creativity and discovery and to develop their creative and thinking skills with a view to making them better learners in their area of expertise and leaders in their future careers

Leaning heavily on the de Bono method of critical thinking skills this course allows for the development of students creative thinking skills, in particular in the context of learning, problem-solving and leadership.

The module will adopt a highly interactive, innovative approach to learning and will encourage in students a sense of excitement and curiosity about learning and the wider world. The course explores the nature of creativity from four interacting viewpoints: person, process, product, and environment. Its goal is to develop students' awareness of their creative potential.

Incorporating aspects of psychology, science, technology and business this course will be integral for students interested in finding out more about the way we think and will also be a useful tool in deciding on a future course at third level.

Hmm... I wonder if that has anything at all to do with the fact that de Bono teaches at DCU or is involved in DCU now (I can't be bothered checking the relationship again).

Seems a bit of a strange one anyway. Potentially quite interesting too.

how does someone get into this?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

Into CTYI? I'd say read the "what is CTYI" to get more information on it, you have to do an SAT or pSAT and you get in based on your scores. There should be more information on the dcu website www.dcu.ie and there's a section for ctyi.

You should expect to not have enough time.

Try and remember your calculator. And, if possible, a spare calculator in case the battery goes dead. The sums can be done mentally, but a calculator is quicker.

I think so. Mind you, I did it about 4 or 5 years ago.

Don't forget to bring an eraser.

I did. Caused me a few problems.

I had a graphic calculator when I did it. Not that I knew how to use it or anything, but no one said anything to me.
