Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No - looks as though Cyfra are not showing any 3pm games in my opinion.

Two weeks in and none have been shown.

Thats a massive dissapointment to be fair.

I see Alsat have reduced the price of the Tring cards
Alsat has negotiated a one-time, limited-time offer of £209 for "Tring PLUS" and "Tring" only £ 179.
When stocks of this card are exhausted, the price will return to normal.

A £70 drop in price after only two games gone in the season.

I cant understand that to be honest - seems a very large price drop.

Only thing I can think of is that uptake must not have been high as people were holding off to see what happened.

This is what Alsat said in their email
This is done only because some one in UK Pretend to be distributors have start selling tring cards very cheap and most of those cards will be switch OFF or will live without 3 PM soon. )
    Something is afoot perhaps.
I was watching Tring today and they were advertising their channels.
50 Leke a day for the full pack which works out at ~30p a day or £110 for the year,so thats the cost price in Albania.
    Alsat had a big markup @ £280 .

I am wondering about this. So far they have been following the big non 3pm games (big 4). I notice a changed on the Canal+ site saying that they will be showing "....a few key meetings". This suggests they are only showing the games involving the bigger name teams. However, I am sure, but I have no link, that I saw them advertising they would be showing 180 games, which would mean they would have to show 3pm games to reach that total.

At the moment they have shown the games I am interested in so I am happy. The Tring (Alsat) discount on seems promising but I am pretty sure that come May we won't be watching Tring (either cause they'll move to a new bird on a tighter beam or the EPL will pull the rights!)

I am beginning to regret ordering Cyfra+ now. Looking at LJ's for Sunday week they are not listed as showing the 1.30pm game (Bolton v Birmingham) but they are listed as showing the 4pm game (Aston Villa v Everton).

I posted this before in the soccer for next season thread but I might as well post it again here I'm just after doing a bit of research on the number of matches that Cyfra will show. They say on their website that they will show about 150 matches. I then went into the Sky website and Sky Sports will show 92 matches and ESPN will show 46 matches. That is a total of 138 matches for a combination of Sky/ESPN. So Cyfra will show 12 matches more than this so they must be going to show some 3pms or it may mean that they are going to show a few more midweek games to make up the total of 150 matches.

Perhaps the EPL have stripped Cyfra with the 3pms??? You never know.

    Sky are 115
    ESPN are 23

The cost of a Cyfra sub (€160 for HD) is far cheaper than a Sky and ESPN sub in fairness.

compared to what Art used to offer i dont think its great value for money.

But at the end of the day, it could be the cheapest option out there.

Just one quick question on the radio delay software. I have been using it for a few games now through a freesat box and a laptop but the sound seems to be very fuzzy and difficult to understand. Can I ask is this the normal for using radio delay and does it happen with every computer that uses this software or is it just that the speakers on my laptop are crap?

You will have to turn down the recording sound properties in your sound card manager to near enough zero otherwise it will be all blurred (To loud).

Dish up at last! Eventually got it aligned that so that my motor will let me switch between Sky and Hotbird, not picking up much else with ease though. It was getting late last night though so I'll give it another go tonight. What other satellites should I be comfortably getting with an 85cm dish south facing building in drogheda?

Cyfra card worked immediately for standard channels using cccam, the hd channels took an hour to clear but all good now! :)

Thanks! 19.2 is coming in fine. In order of strength, I have 28.5/ 19.2 / 13.0 with nothing apart from them 3. Hotbird breaks up on some transponders, Cyfra was fine last night, a bit jumpy today. Should I stick with what I have or would I benefit from some tweaking of the dish at the risk of losing it all?! It took six hours to get this far!

If you are looking for a cheap option then you could dump your Sky Sports sub and buy a Cyfra card from http://www.satsklep.pl/index.php?s=produkty&id_kat=79&producent=0&lang=eng

The multi-packet card is cheap and will show about 160 games this season as far as I know. No english commentary though.

There is also a Tring plus card which has much for footie including about four saturday 3pm games.

The PQ is so bad on a 47" LCD you cannot sometimes even make out the score icon!

Have to admit i watched the Spanish footie on digitalb last night, the PQ seems a lot better than it was many years ago.

Did anyone have the Villa Everton game on Cyfra yesterday? I had Sport 1, but Sport 2 wasn't coming on for some reason. Is it a weaker transponder? I've noticed the HD stuff is terrible during the day but perfect at night.

Apparently there was a rescan of 13 east required.

Yep, I've got Cyfra+ and saw the game on Sport 2 - as snaps says maybe you need to do a recan.

BTW, checked Sport 3 on Saturday evening and they were showing the Villareal v Malaga LaLiga game live.

Yes its wise to keep an eye on sport 3 as programming isn't advertised for it and stuff pops up on it!

I noticed on Sat morning that the Azbox Epg was showing that Villareal v Malaga would be on Sports3 so will have to keep an eye on it for sure.

Tring had English audio on all 4 3pm kick off last Saturday.
Picture quality was slightly better but still poor.

Meanwhile Sky Italy had no English audio on any of their Premier League matches last weekend which is quite worrying .
Sky Uk seem to be upping the ante in their bid to stop foreign cards infiltrating the Irish and Uk market.

I watched some of the Villa game last night in Polish and the language didn't bother me at all. €160 for 12 months opposed to what Sky would charge, no contest

I watched the Villa game on Nova Sports 1. (hotbird)

    Brilliant quality. English audio.
Haven't got HD but this SD channel is hard to beat.

Nova Sport on 23e (sd) is very similar in pq too.

Sounds like your receiver is acting up, if you are watching both C+ Film and C+ Sport at the same time?

Sorry folks, I knew I didn't make any sense!

If I turn on the C+ HD Movie Channel, the picture is breaking up badly but also coming through on screen I can see bits of a picture from the sports channel as well as the movie channel. I get a mish mash of audio too. it's like the two channels are fighting for the same slot. I'll post a screenshot later on if this still sounds mad! I'm using latest catseye settings on vix image for my vu plus duo. I've also rescanned the transponder.
I don't have any issues with the Cyfra SD channels.

This is the HD film channel, I can hear and see the sports channel trying to come through while I watch!

I've no problems with any other HD on Hotbird, its just everything on this transponder in particular thats poor.
