POGO This Week: Sian, Redsetta, Bassbin + Nic James!

Hey Folks

Its all rooms blazin’ this Saturday after we had the 3rd room closed for the first 2 weeks of January, what with everybody tired and poor….or so we thought. Place has been stuffed for the last 2 weeks so it’s 3 rooms this Saturday with Bassbin hosting POGO live with 2 of their tips-for-the-top for this year.

Also for this Saturday, you'll get in free if you flash your membership card and if you flash it on January 28th (big night next week with Nathan Fake Live etc.) you'll get in for e8 as opposed to the usual e13 for members (e15 non-members). Also, apologies to those who didnt get sorted with the cards last week.

If your down at any of the POGO dates in Janaury we'll have 50 free membership cards each night to give away - either ask for Tayor or John Mahon on the night and we'll sort it out. Note this offer applies only for January otherwise membership can be obtained for e2 at Carbon Records in Temple Bar.

Barry Redsetta + Sian
Joining Barry this Saturday is Graham Goodwin who sells his records as ‘Sian’ on supa-cool German label Poker Flat. An excellent producer and a jolly good DJ to boot. With Barry and Graham at the controls and weeks worth of fresh new music (+ the odd crowd pleaser thrown in), what could possibly go wrong?

Room 2 - POGO PUB
Nic James
Nic has somebody to play with this week with the guys from Monkey Tennis joining him in the sand box. Monkey Tennis, of legendary nights in Grays of Newmarket, Thomas House, The Shelter and now every Friday in Anseo and Nic on hand it will be the Hits of the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s…AND TODAY on the record players. Good, fun time party music all night long.




Room 3 - POGO LIVE (Drum and Bass)

Big things as usual for the Bassbin Cru. We have not one, but two exclusive sets, with different reasons to get excited about. First off, a producer who arrived with a bang in 2005 and is expected to do big, big things in 2006 - MARTYN. The Netherlands' finest has had releases on Marcus Intalex's Revolve:r and Flight's new Play:Musik imprint - a healthy endorsement. Martyn spends his time producing, promoting and DJing at his RED ZONE parties (nominated 3 years in a row for Best Crew at the Dutch D’n’B awards).
His co-resident PRESSURE is also big news in Holland, winning the best DJ award at the 2003 awards - he was also born and bred in Co Carlow!! This will be his first gig back on the auld sod since he left for fresh pastures. We're well proud that a paddy has left a big impression on the healthy DnB scene in Holland, and we're delighted to be able to showcase him back over here.
Bassbin’s own ULTRA will be supporting on the night. His tight, techy sets are always fresh, so catch him as the doors open.
MC KENDRY will, of course, be on hand to hype the crowd, and of course the extra-heavy POGO live sound system will be in full effect.
