I have a Mattress & Base that I must dump (they are from an old house I'm doing up so no chance of giving them away) How do I get rid of them? I could drive it to the local landfill -would they charge me (how much) -or even let me in? I can't find info on the cork county council site.

I suppose you mean the Kinsale Road landfill site (the only one in the greater Cork area - it is on the cork corpo website, although hard to find) - they'll let you in with non-recycable waste allright but charge you for the privilege - I think it was 20 Euro for a car and something like 60 Euros for car and trailer. Opening hours are as below:

Mondays - Fridays 8.00 a.m. - 3.45 p.m.
Saturdays 8.00 a.m. - 12.45 p.m.
Sundays, Bank Holidays Closed
