Does anyone know about the breathe development on bedford row? The sign looks fancy, a picture of a tree and all. Any links to architects plans anyone?

WE'd be able to BREATHE a lot better if they planted trees there instead of putting up PICTURES of trees and building shops. LImks not exactly falling down with green areas at the moment.....:( :(

ooh and it sounds such fun "limericks new retail heart"
Samey clothing chains galore maybe...the excitement!!!!!

Well beford row will not be the same as crusis street is, there will be bushes and stuff running along it too if i am right. Plus the peoples park is one of the prettyist pars in ireland (offically the prettyest after a recent thingy)

The pedestrianisation of bedford row is coinciding with the redevelopment of the old savoy site. The pedestrianisation works include trees, shrubbery, street furniture, new street lighting and the centrepiece will be a life sized statue of richard harris, the plans look good and something similar is planned for thomas street aswell, these works should be starting in the next couple of weeks. The development on the savoy site includes a 4/5 star 200 room hotel with bar/restaurant and leisure centre, 14 shop units over 4 levels and i think theres a few apartments thrown in somewhere aswell as usual. A revamp of the old central cinema across the street is also on the cards, apparently theres the remains of an old methodist chapel behind the current facade and this is going to be restored and used for retail and office use. Nice to see we're finally starting to appreciate our architecture and history here in Limerick.

Kewl to hear they are going to restore the front of the central you can see some of the old frontage from the corner of supermacs and it looks really good
