Nightwish in the Apollo in Hammersmith last September. It was an amazing gig.
Also as much as I dislike the guy, Robbie Williams is a great showman and put on a great gig in Phoenix Park.

Just on purely on the music, Mercury Rev in some tent at Witnness a few years back. For the same reason Rodrigo & Gabriel, the Quay (the pub/venue), Galway.

There's too many to list that I'd rate "good/very good".

Agreed, that gig has always stuck out in Pigheads memory as a special one. "The Dark is Rising" being particularly memorable as Jonathan orchestrated the band during the eh orchestry sounding parts. Think Spiritualized played in that same tent that year which was also a classic.

Basement Jaxx in Marlay Park last year would get my vote from a purely musical spectacle point of view...

Every note was pitch perfect and the fact that they came on just as the sun was setting was great... and let's face it, anything was going to be amazing compared to Mylo...

Hurricane Festival in Germany last summer. System of a Down supported by Audioslave on the saturday evening was just superb. If I never go to another gigs as good again, I won't mind.

Iggy Pop in the Ritz New York 1981

Paul McCartney in the RDS 2003

Eels in Vicar Street last year

You and me both - nice list though!
Seeing The Top Hat mentioned reminded me of a brilliant Jesus And Mary Chain gig there sometime in the fog of the 80's.

fraid the JAMC gig is lost in the fog for me! The Clash played in the Top Hat as well, but were a bit disappointing as far as I can remember...Iggy was great, though the band he was hauling around at the time was appalling.

Pink Floyd in Earl's court '94.JUst 'cos I love them so much and didn't think I'd ever get to see them live.

radiohead at punchestown, 2000, unbelievable, the performances were amazing, i loved the way they improvized on some of the songs, the lighting was awesome, when they played lucky the red lights shone right through them just leaving their outlines during the chorus. it was religious.

Nightwish at the Hammersmith Apollo last September or Children of Bodom at the London Astoria last week, both stand out as amazing gigs.

Arcade Fire - EP 2005 - The crowd singing the opening part of "Wake up" nearly blew my ears off! It will be tough to beat that

Interpol - Oxegen 2005 - I was very nervous about seeing them just incase they didnt live upto what I had hoped, but they were unbelivable, and the crowd were just as crazy!!

Massive attack - Everytime Ive seen them...... just amazing stuff....

Orbital - Oxegen 2004 - Last show in Ireland. totally rocked the tent:

Best gig I've seen was AC/DC in the Point. Was'nt a fan of them (got a free ticket) but what a show. Huge inflatables, Angus Young all over the place like a chicken on crack, and "the dollars" which I got one.
    10/10

    St Germain - Olympia
Paul McCartney - RDS (biggest regret was getting a seat - should have been up the front)

Paul McCartney - RDS ( Was up front - it was like hearing the Beatles like we never heard them in the 60s - we didn't have the good sound amplification then)
Paul Simon - "Rythm of the Saints" concert - 90s sometime.
