DVD won't play over 18 dvds

    I've got a philips 625 dvd and recently it stopped me playing anything with an over 18 rating eg Goodfellows, Casino but plays everything else. I looked up dvd365.net and got the codes for having a region free player and it worked, I could then play the above videos. But now its stopped again and it just comes up "loading" and eventually "no disc". Tried putting in the codes again but no luck. Checked the parental guide on the player and its set to adult. Anyone ever experience this?

    You will have to unlock the parental code again. Is it new or did you buy it 2nd hand?
    I know someone who had a similar problem with a PS2 when they tried to play 18's dvds.

    Tried unlocking the parental guide as per the manual but no joy.

    Sounds more like a region problem than parental lock. Try a non-18 region 1 DVD or an 18 region 2 DVD and see what happens.

    Don't have any region 1 dvds but it plays any under 18 DVDS ok so I don't think its a region problem although making it region free initially solved the problem.
