Bichon Frises

I'm pretty allergic to most animals but I've had 2 bichon frises for the past 6/7 years. I'm moving away from home next year and would really love a pet but can't afford the £250 price tags this breed comes with. Anyone know of anywhere that I could find some dogs that I won't be allergic to? I don't mind taking in strays just I don't want to get a dog only to discover that it makes me sneeze. Any help appreciated!

Unfortunately almost all dogs will make you react if you are allergic to them. There are other breeds besides Bichons that you might be OK with though, and might be a bit easier to come by (and hence possibly cheaper). Shih-Tzus and Yorkshire Terriers are supposed to be good for people with allergies and there's a lot more of them in rescues than there are Bichons because they're more common.
