    This list doesn't exist.

Even up to 2004 it was difficult, as along with the fairly common chamberings, there were oddballs like 5.7x58 which made it hard to complie a comprehensive list.

    Erm...... all of them.
    Seriously.

AFAIK, under current and proposed legislation, there are no 'illegal' calibres in this jurisdiction.
Provided you can come up with a legitimate use for something and your local Superintendent is happy you're not a danger to the State or the public, you can (theoretically :D) licence anything.

The only things specifically restricted (again, AFAIK, and I'm paraphrasing here) are explosive/incendiary/'noxious' ammunition.

I'm open to correction, but I'm pretty sure that's how it stands at the moment.

Here are a couple of links with lists of calibres-

All right, I'm from the states so help me out. You CAN own weapons in Ireland? Thank goodness. I've thought about working there but always thought better of it due to my perception that there were no firearms aloud.. period. Is the test completely arbitrary and capricious depending on the mood of the inspector? Where are the ranges or can you shoot on private lands? Again... forgive my ignorance on this guys.

It depends on what you want to shoot,

Airguns , .22LR There is clubs all over ireland for them,

Pistols Thre is only a few really good clubs in ireland as we only got a pistols back not so long ago after 32 years :D

Shotguns again thre is lots of clubs all over ireland for them,

FullBore Rifle now thre is only a handfull of Fullbore clubs in all over ireland the best being the Midlands Shooting Center of Ireland, " The name says it all"

You can shoot everything under irish law down in the midlands club, Its 2 hours from dublin.

    And

yes you can shooting on priv land as long as you get the land owner to put it on paper and bring it to youre local FO " firearms Officer "

You cant have anything fully auto here in the republic of ireland nor can you have anything better then ME :)

Ireland is a great place bring youre family youre friends and please please dont forget to bring youre women :)

Can you bring the firearms you own when you move there. Such as Glock 22 (.40 cal), Bushmaster AR-15 and things of that type? I suppose an M-4 and a Grease Gun are out of the question!

Oh, the .50 BMG w/ Armor Piercing Incendiary Tracer would do lovely things to an elephant. Does a good job on lightly armored personnel carriers at 1400meters too!!:D

You would need to get a permit for them here in the republic, and you will need a A7 Form to import them,

As long as the Ar15 is not fully Auto you can bring it in, BUT you may not get the permit for it if you dont have a good reson for having the fine Ar15 :)

Well, you'd get the licence for the glock and the bushmaster allright, but the fully-auto lads would be far more interesting. You'd most likely be refused on the grounds that:
    a) You'd have no good use for them;
    b) You'd have nowhere safe to shoot them; or
    c) 'would ye ever cop on ye eejit ye' :D
    13 mm Gyrojet
Nope, as it's not really a firearm but a small rocket launcher.
Good luck finding ammo for it too btw!

you have never been able to get a Fully Auto Weapon here in the south and will never get one, wit a permit i mean :)

As for getting the Ar15 in here.Cool if you can do it,but it will have to undergo your local Supers and DOJ "Idontlikedelookodat" or "datsgrandsonow"
test.Much used here in Ireland to assertain wether one firearm is more dangerous by it's looks than another one.Forget any such trifling matters of calibres, rate of fire, etc etc.

As much as I like the SD I really enjoy shooting the M3A1 "Grease Gun" the best. It's just an ugly, open-bolt antique but it's great for shooting in what's called "Classic" matches because you can squeeze off just one round at a time if you're careful. As you probably know they're full-auto, all the time with a pretty slow rate of fire. The only real limiting feature that dates 'er is the safety which is a closable "door" that blocks the open bolt from closing.

I work for a PD so we can get "post-ban" guns. We're getting an HK UMP-40 in the next few weeks. I'll be sure to write a review. I had a UMP-45 for T&E and it was great. They had some issue due to polymer flex w/ the power of the.45 round. This was supposedly solved with the 40. Speaking of which Glock has had a problem, I hear, with polymer flex with their 21's. I'll research that more before I speak to it though. I have a lot of faith in Glocks.

If you had a silenced grease gun,you would be really in with a bunch of other "freedom fighter"nutjobs over here. They called it the "spittin dummy".
Have heard of this problem with the Glock in the bigger calibres as well.Even to a point that some 40cals have actually exploded.Seems that the design works fine in 9mm,but it wont handle the bigger cals due to the unsupported way the shell is held in battery.Or somthing like that.Lot of faith in the Glock as well.Carried it alot in the 90s in LA and SD when I worked there.

No didn't get to any gun stores in SD, did go shooting a glock .45, AR15 or 16 (which one is semi auto) and a tauras 9mm (beretta copy) in Virginia which was the highlight of the summer for me anyway
