Yeah had a look through the Argos and Curry's websites but there doesn't seem to be much. And after that I don't really know of anywhere else, Golden Discs will have a few sets but nothing major I'd imagine and probably worse than the other two.

    You could try CompuB.

Peats, Tower Records, PC World, Maplins, Harvey Normal, Easons, just check the prices as some of them are very expensive.

Found Tower Records to be incredibly overpriced. 500 for Q701s. Nope.

Very true, HMVs sales brought them down to decent prices, alas they don't trade here anymore. Online is certainly the way to go.

Also, savage price with free shipping and supposedly amazing!

Best value is online. Read the reviews (from decent sites) then shop around. Lot of fakes on ebay. Be aware of that.

Just seen these on sale, I'd say they would be perfect for sports. Probably pick up a pair next week, if they are still available.

They are for me the perfect sports headphones, I've tried quite a few, Seinnheisser ie8, ocx880, some sonys and I have to say the Koss is better than the lot for sports, I also like the sound signature..

    Hey guys,

I am looking to get new in ear headphones. They need to be under 50e and will be purchasing them in the next weeks. I heard the SoundMagic E10 are great for the price which is around 50. Do you guys recommend anything or any websites to buy from?.

I just got these in the post:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They are bloody huge, stick miles out from my ears, but I have to say they're the best iem I've ever listened to and by a lot.

I've got a collection of Sein ie8s, Sonys, Shures, Klipsch and JVCs which were all great phones, but these phones wrap you in the music. The bass is the most detailed I've ever heard. How they've managed to separate the highs and mids from the bass I'll never know, but they managed it.

The amount of base is dependent on the tips, they give you, solid tips make less base. These have instantly become my favourite phones for all music types.

So if you don't mind looking like an extra from star trek and love clear, detailed music, oodles of base on tap, with a really wide and deep sound stage look no further.

These are around the 75 euro mark at the moment, but bear in mind that they are a 250+ euro set. So to my mind an absolute steal!

With Brian's permission, I'm posting here about some good value headphones on my own website - we can sell these off into some retail stores but would like to offer members here a better deal for the good of the small local headphone enthusiasts community... obviously if we sell to shops they need to put a margin on so that saving is represented here.

The AKG Q701 may be of interest to some here, we've 2 available at €229.99 - a good saving on the normal retail price and still a few quid cheaper than Amazon who are at £219 (approx €260).

    https://blocbuy.com/506/product

Also the K550, also only 2 left at a clearance price of €145.

    https://blocbuy.com/504/product

Some other good clearance offers across JAYS, AKG and Harman/Kardon. We are currently agreeing terms with other premium brands and will give a heads up here when we have any specials available.

We've some Harman/Kardon headphones seriously reduced at the moment, I think in all cases beating Amazon by quite a few quid...

    Lads.

Getting sick of JVC's HAFX1X(http://www.amazon.co.uk/JVC-HAFX1X-Xtreme-Xplosives-Headphones/dp/B004S7Q8CA/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1382561293&sr=1-1&keywords=jvc+ha+fx1x) falling out of my ears. They sound fantastic but they are too bloody heavy to stay in my ears no matter what buds I use. Have them for a year.

Looking for a good all round performing in ear headphone (Bass prominent with as much clarity as possible). budget up to €100.

Was looking at the Beyerdynamic DTX101 iE but there are a lot of complaints about build quality out there. Tempted by the TDK IE800.

Is Sennheiser producing anything exceptional under €100?

    Thanks

If you don't mind the size (they are huge), these are the best base earphones available, used to retail for 200 but now a steal. Clear mids, clear treble and possibly the best base I've ever heard in any can.

This is what would happen if beats knew anything about headphones...which they don't.

If the size of the HAFX1X (5.2 g) is pulling them out, do those denons (13 g) not have the same problem? I know it depends on fit etc., so its not always straightforward. I can't keep the Sony MH1C in at all, and its the cable the bud thats the problem for me.

This might be useful as comparison of the SQ

Big difference in budget between the earphones you are looking at?

I have a set of TDK IE800 I got earlier in the year from iBood. I've not opened them yet. They extend a long way out of the ear. Which can be annoying. I end up using a cheapo senn Cx200's, or the stock phones from my Sony.

I don't think it is a weight issue, i think it is a balance issue. Head just seems to naturally pull back out of the ear. The buds could be the issue aswell. I know JVC released an updated version HA FX101 which was smaller and supposed to deliver excellent sound and bass.

I am tempted by the performance of the Denon AH-C300 but i am put off by the size of them.

Have any experience with these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-Precision-Isolating-Ear-canal-Phones/dp/B001EZYMF4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382600680&sr=8-1&keywords=sennheiser+cx300+ii

The CX 300s are decent, but unspectacular. Give the VSonic VDS1 a go, same price or cheaper, small, and excellent. You can get them from lendmeurears.

Think i'll go with this combo. The E10's seem to be appear on every top ten list out there so they must be decent.

I had the first version of the CX300's I'd have to agree. Too much bias towards bass and unremarkable otherwise. The CX300 II might be better I don't know. TBH i prefer the CX 200's though.

The cx300 IIs are a good headphone for bass. I find a lot of Seins a bit anemic when it comes to base. The 300s still suffer from this a bit but they push out a mid bass hump to make up for it. I prefer my bass to be sub-woofer-like.

I hear good things about: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Edition-Dynamic-Isolation-Earphones-Earbuds/dp/B00ATWLG8Y

But they are all imported, so beware, you may be caught for duty.
