whoopsie. you obviously didnt see the links that were posted up previously, so i will let you away with what youve written with only a stern warning to know all the facts first ;)

there was a link to it, but it has been edited out.
cult i think has since put up a link to a legal version of the rules of the road.

as far as i can see, all problem sorted.

    however...

That post contains an open admission that the author has broken copywright but I see no link or explicit directions to it. .

again, it has been edited out, problem solved.

I am an author of copywritten works myself and I wouldnt be wild about it if someone ripped me off. On the other hand, it has always irked me that we have to pay to be told what rules our government made up for the transport system.

although, i am surprised at you there. i know youre a closet socialist, but to get a nice little booklet with all the info in one place for a nominal fee is hardly the crime of the century.
besides, if you were a driver, youd know that there are not a lot of drivers in ireland that actually stick to the rules of the road...

    3. Without a link its the same as someone coming here and saying "I've photocopied this book and I've dozens of copies in my room, come find me I live... somewhere".
    .

    again, its been edited out.

My gut feeling is this: we should build a list of links to how to (legally) obtain the rules of the road..

its already up. the rules of the road are free. its the little booklet you pay for.

the issue is over. i am happy that the copyrighted material is down. after that, personally im not too bothered, although, i still wonder why i have been accused of 'overstepping my mark'.

    storm = teacup.

You werent accused of that by me. In fact I think I was quite clear about. There has never been a "mark" for the C-Mods defined so stepping over it would be a mute point. (sic!)

Cult has provided us with a wonderful solution, for which much thanks. I'd care more if I was a driver but I'm not.

Lets be clear, I don't buy into the "information should be free" idea. I DONT want to see torrent links from Boards, not because I am worried about fighting the authorities, I'd fight anyone if I think I'm justified, but because I think its just theft under a different name. Do I occasionally download the odd MP3? yes but I also buy the albums if I like what I hear.

In this case I didnt realise there was a free copy online. Which is just great. I would now object to any linking to copies of the handbook as if people want the convenience of that, they should pay the publisher. If they don't the information is still available.

I'm not a closet socialist, I'm quite an overt socialist as I think Boards shows. The problem with socialism as Orwell pointed out is that inevitablely someone rises to power. In so far as Boards is concerned I think we decided to do it the other way around. Rise to power and THEN create something of a socialist state :)

Benevolent Dictatorships For All! (except Lump Basher who, on review of his post, really WAS a terrible gobsh*te and is hoarding our precious carbon, hydrogen and oxygen).

    Case Closed.

dont worry, i know you didnt mention i had overstepped the mark.

i think youre just paraphrasing everything else ive said. which is good. becuase we both know, im always right :)

but you are a closet socialist. your hair on the other hand, is boardering on militant.

Christ Cult, you'd want to be careful. That stuff. Exposure to it for even 3 minutes can kill.

I thought some of the products in those packs were dihydrous monoxide-based anyway?

I know, I know, I was surprised to find that common drinks like tea and coffee actually contain alarmingly high levels of dihydrous monoxide.

Even so, research indicates that in small quantities, it can be beneficial to your health!
