Our Bio!!

Gorbachov consist of - Brendan Feeney-Vocals, Brian (The Kid) Casey- Rhythm Guitar, Bobby Comerford- Bass, Ian (BOT) Fleming- Lead Guitar, Alan (HENO) Hennessy- Drums. They are currently located in Waterford, Ireland. Gorbachov have already made a name for themselves having played gigs in Waterford, Cork, Dublin, Carlow and Wexford. They formed over a year and a half ago as an excuse to get to play loud music and to everyone’s surprise they vanished of the face of the earth until one dark day in the seedy underbelly of the Waterford underground through a cloud of Buckfast scented smoke they emerged no longer mere men but as the Mechanical hybrid known as Gorbachov. While Brendan is the chief songwriter every one of the lads contributes their own unique genius in the writing of the music. With their catchy infectious riffs, beefy bass-lines and funky disco rock drums combined with quirky intense lyric’s it’s impossible to sit still at any one of their gigs.They write, perform and record all their own tracks. Some of the gigs they have played that really stood out for the lads would be when they released their debut E.P ‘Revenge of the Sauce’ a tribute to their beloved tipple of choice. This gig was a tremendous success as they rocked the sold out venue foundations and created wide spread havoc on the streets. People were amazed, shocked and confused but ultimately in love with Gorbachov. The E.P’s pretty much flew off the shelves and into the hands of unsuspecting public. So was it ever really any wonder when Gorbachov were approached by Irish band The Frames to play support for them in Carlow’s Music Factory? The lads obliged and played with such vigour and energy that The Frames even had to dedicate a few songs to them in their own set. Brendan having created this frenzied like ska style dance had the audience in his hands and feet. And again this was very much the way they finished the year 2005 in playing another packed out gig on Stephens’s night. A night to which the upstairs floors of the Forum Waterford shook maniacally all night long. Gorbachov have also been named as one of the top five Irish bands of 2005 on Beat FM. So what does 2006 have in store for Gorbachov – International acclaim and more by the looks of it.
