Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

TV3 shares

with can west selling its shares in tv3 reports in yesterdays Star suggested that BSKYB are interested in buying the company. although itv (who currently own 45% of tv3 also) have first refusal of the shares, if they do not buy them then they have to sell their stake in the company aswell. And Itv have already declined an offer on their shares for the same price that they are for sale at now. if sky were to buy tv3 would we see the loss of programmes on rte2 such as simpsons, malcom & live premership games to the new channel? don't know if all the rights can just transfer over from their uk channels but it would be some channel if they could. think about it. you'd have all the best sky one programmes, soccer matches from sky sports, movies from sky movies and news from sky news. what more could one ask for!

Malcom was never on 2, but on 3, and RET would hold individual contracts for the other two which will be safe at least up until the time of renewal. I wouldn't see Sky contesting licenses or transferring too much to a terrestrial channel though, especially if they want to keep those shows as selling points for their satellite packages.

There about 2 good shows on Sky One. And we just be getting back Grainne Seoige. :)

Well Sky might but so could:-

    ITV
    Setanta
    Dennis O'Brien
    and RTL (owners of five)

And it is unlikely that Sky would put their best shows on FTA, more then likely it would be Sky Two and FTA advert for Sky!

really? why bother having premium channels at all if they are giving the content away for free. if Sky were to buy TV3 expect in 5 years a Sky Three clone. premiership matches will stay on Sky Sports (unless they of course they bid for the Saturday 3pm games), new movies would stay on Sky Movies, Sky News is on a par with TV3 News, both are ****. the best Sky One programmes, handy except most of the best programmes seem to be on terrestrial channels these days
