It used to go down every tuesday at 5pm for maintenance - not sure if its still the case.

I certainly checked my account at 4pm and it was fine.

Was doing this to me before as well. Was working fine in UCD but not on my home computer. Getting sick of all these exam related shenanigans at this stage!

Connect's a different server and program than the SIS. Still incredibly odd, as connect is unusually well behaved most of the time.
