Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Did Kanu get a Uefa Cup medal at Inter?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,951 ✭✭✭✭Villain

Not sure, I heard a simalar one before but slighty different have a go at this one as well:

Who is the only player to have won the English First Division (now Premiership) title, English FA Cup, European Champions Cup [now Champions League] and the World Cup?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

    Jack Charlton ?

Kanu played 5 games in their 98 winning season. I hope he got a medal or I am stumped ;)

    Nope, close though t4tf.

I have a huge list of these, some are good some are just silly, I think there is about 50 in it, I'll post them up one at a time as someone gets the right answer.

  • Registered Users Posts: 393 ✭✭BillyBoy

    Sir Bobby charlton?
Would it be Veron for the original question (on loan at inter from chelsea) but not sure

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 661 ✭✭✭CountryWise

It aint Giggs, that was my initial answer but he actually won a cup winners medal as oppsed to a Uefa cup medal!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

I am almost fairly sure it is Kanu mate but as I said, I am open to proof to the contrary.

Other has gotta be Bobby then..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,951 ✭✭✭✭Villain

Yep Bobby Chartlton is the answer:
    International Caps 106
    International Goals 49
Teams Manchester United, Preston North End
    Team Honours World Cup (1966)
    European Cup (1968)
    FA Cup (1963)

I'll post 2, I think the first one was answered on here before:

1:Who is the only player to score in a Manchester, Merseyside and Glasgow derby?

    2:Fill in the missing gap:
    1979: Sunderland
    1980: ???
    1981: Villa

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 661 ✭✭✭CountryWise

    Biography:

He began his playing career at Ajax, where he played in successive Champions League finals in 1995 and 1996, before his move to Italy.

Kanu spent five-and-a-half years at Highbury after joining from Internazionale and has overcome a serious heart condition to be a prodigious goalscorer and medal winner throughout his career.

With Inter, he won the Uefa Cup in 1998, before joining Arsenal in January 1999, where he won two Premiership titles and the FA Cup.

He scored 44 goals in 198 games for the Gunners, and was also a member of Nigeria`s Olympic gold-medal winning team in 1996. [July 2004]

    Well done TFTF

    Kanchelskis i think

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,951 ✭✭✭✭Villain

Yep them 2 are right, just incase anyone is wondering where Trevor Brooking came from:They are the surnames of the scorers of the winning goals in the FA Cup finals for each year

3:Which current Championship side at one time had seven past, present and future England captains in the same team, and in which year?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 661 ✭✭✭CountryWise

Kanchelskis makes sense, United Everton and Rangers

Don't have a clue about this one. I'm guessing Preston NE or Stoke (during the 70's possibly) but its just a shot in the dark.

Some of them could be Roddy, sorry if I'm repeating old stuff just thought they are a bit of fun.

Your right by the way about Robert Earnshaw:
Premiership - West Brom v Charlton, March 2005
    Championship - Cardiff v Gillingham, September 2002
    League 1 - Cardiff v Tranmere, March 2002
    League 2 - Cardiff v Torquay, December 2000
FA Cup - Cardiff v Bristol Rovers, November 2000
League Cup - Cardiff v Boston United, September 2002
    Country - Wales v Scotland, February 2004

    Question 4 still going.

David Moyes is the last one from when beckham was at loan to Preston

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,951 ✭✭✭✭Villain

Monaco is final part of 7 they won the French league.

9:Can you name the 8 players who have scored for 5 different Premiership teams. Own goals don't count? (think was asked before)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,951 ✭✭✭✭Villain

Yep it was Moyes, I would never have gotten that.

Easy one for ya, only this might be slightly outdated there may be another one or two:

10:There are 12 players that have scored at least 100 goals in the premiership. Can you name them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,307 ✭✭✭cruiserweight

Nick Barmby, Ashley Ward, Stan Collymore, Benito Carbone,Les Ferdinand, Mark Hughes, Teddy Sheringham, Andy Cole.

If I am correct I think Les Ferdinand was the first to score for 6!

    Teddy Sheringham
    Dwight Yorke
    Michael Owen
    Ian Wright
    Thierry Henry
    Dion Dublin
    Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
    Matt Le Tissier

Alan Shearer was the first to get both 100 and 200 goals, and is the only one with 200 afaik
