Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

This guy was working on his invoices in SAGE yesterday
but he lost all of January and Decembers invoices. The
last backup he made was at the end of November so it
seems he restored by accident instead of backing up!
Is there any way of getting his data back?

    Any help appreciated,
    Patrick.

I seriously doubt it. He has just overwritten December and Januarys work with a backup from November. How did he lose the data in the first place?

Its possible to recover if he avoids writing to the HD. Difficult and messy, but possible.

You will have to guesstimate the names of the files that have been deleted\changed, then use data recovery software to attempt to restore the overwritten data.

SAGE may be able to help you with the files that you need.

If it's crucial data, I can take a look at it for you.

Sage tech support will be able to tell you what files would be needed. You will first need to establish what he had actually entered into Sage. Was it just invoices? Was there anything else? i.e. payments, receipts etc. As Souper said it would be a messy. Also would there have been that many transactions entered? Would it be easier to input the data again? This all depends on the volume entered.

Is there any other backup apart from the one in SAGE ?
How do they backup their other files ?

REST2514 is good for recovering single files, but tedious if multiple restores needed.

DON'T let them write any info the the drive as it will could overwrite deleted files.

He's decided to enter the data again. Thanks for the replies
