Quick reply has been very slow as well, from home and work computers, middle of the day and middle of the night.

Yeah I've been noticing a slowdown too off and on for the last few days, from home and work. Especially if I try to open a couple of pages at the same time, can take up to half a minute for all of them to load. I only came over to Feedback to see if anyone else was having problems, and then found this thread.

Opening pages still very slow ( > 30 seconds) but not always.
Seems to be an intermittent problem

I always get a waiting on star-adserver.com at the bottom of the page and it takes about 30 seconds to load. Looks like the ad site is timing out and the rest of the boards page won't load while it is waiting on it.

I get that a lot too.

Yep on the TCD meganetwork as well and it's taking ages the last few days.

I find that pie is faster than www.
And I find that boards.ie/vbulletin is way faster than boards.ie/

boards.ie/vbulletin is the forum boards.ie/ is just a page that has vBadvanced installed on it. Although I do find the boards.ie/ page loads very slowly.

Like changing pages on this thread took a long time just there... but if I try it again in 2 mins, it might not.

seems fine now.
i keep getting the message "waiting for stats.big-boards.com" and that seems to be causing the delay for me. (eircom 2mb)

like most, it's intermittent.

I'm getting 78/79ms from France but the responses are intermittant.
I haven't seen any Adserver notices at all.

I met with the Salesonline CEO today and we discussed this problem among other things. I'm talking to the Admins now about a plan but hopefully we'll make changes that speed it up soon...

Trinity's connection to the internet is via two 1gb/s lines to HEANet, currently capped at 180mb/s.

its always around lunch time that it is slowing down for me (1pm - 2pm) but thats to be expected!

i used adblock on firefox to get rid of start-adserver because i got sick of spending an hour a day looking at firefox saying "waiting for star-adserver".

didn't actually solve the problem though. it still goes slow randomly, then suddenly comes back as if its been pushed through. got that database error just now
