Usit are a company who specialise in financially raping students while making most of them think they are getting a good deal.
they are actually the cheapest for the j1 this year,
Just for the J1 or the whole package?

A quick list of reasons why I hate Usit:
    1) I was forced to buy travel insurance which I didn;t need as part of my Canadian visa. Now if something had happened to me, I could have had the insurance companies telling eachother to fcuk off and pay for me.

    2) Still on the Canadian visa theme: They are 100% useless when the sh!t hits the fan as regards repeats. They will book your flights (note that you must book your rip off flights through usit) but when it comes to getting you back for repeats (flights covered by mandatory Usit insurance policy) they tell you to fcuk off and ring the airlines and sort yourself out.

    3) Inter railing tickets are a rip off. No question. I did a disgusting amount of travelling on mine and only just about got my money's worth.

4)rant rant rant rant time for bed..................

In fact, if that office is still in Belfield, I'm bringing in my petrol.

    :(:o

actually they are the cheapest if you wanna fork out 5 months travel insurance and put that into your equation, go4less are actually the bargain basement cheapest, no doubt the Ryanair of J1 Visas, However In extensive research i've found SAYIT to be the best company for the J1. USIT want the th progamme fully paid for like NOW! and Go4less will give you until middle of April to come up with the sponds (however their office in town smells of actually poo and their staff are uber rude and basically they describe themselves as an "internet company" ie. can run off with your money 2moro! )

SAYIT had a guy come into the Astra Hall to us give us a very informative talk  , answered any questions we had, and gave a very good impression of their company. SAYIT have actual past J1ers on the ground in the major destinations and although i think they are a little dearer (about 50euro over 1200 really isnt that bad) they seem a lot more professional and comprehensive! :D

actually no, i dont. but i did do alot of research on this years J1, and i would have appreciated a bit of help from people who went on it before, so i'm passing on the knowledge that I, myself, have acquired. Good day to you, sir.

Went on a j1 last year with USIT to Santa Barbara. Was pretty peed off to have to pay the mandatory insurance even though I have private insurance for all eventualities! They also wouldn't let me book my own flights which was a kick in the nuts coz I found much cheaper ones. Don't recommend them at all but if you do choose them go for the solo package. It's cheaper and gives you way more freedom.
