I haven't bought a magazine in years, i found a review site which i've pretty much stuck with for the past number of years
wondering if i'm missing out on anything, i remember reading the old mags a long time ago and they were pretty cool
nintendo power, cvg and more recently gamesmaster
^ was probably biased, but i recall it got me interested in games instead of being a cynical troll

as a pc and GC owner, which mag would i go for?
do any mags do GC demo discs (preferably back catalogue as there isn't much forthcoming)?

I buy Games TM. Not so much for the reviews, but for the features and the brilliant retro section. Great toilet reading.

The only reason left to buy magazines are for the op/ed and features. Websites cover news and reviews a lot better than magazines. Blogs are slowly providing us with decent op/ed stuff too, so the day of me buying magazines could be numbered.

Check out The Guardian Games Blog, a pretty decent read.

Ah I still like Games TM & Edge though.

It's nice to be able to read on the bog.

I find the adverts on a lot of the games websites to be hugely annoying and so wouldn't really follow them at all.

Games TM is the only magazine I'd buy regularly. And every now and then I'll get the official Nintendo magazine as they sometimes have cute free gifts.

    I can't stand The Edge.

I've got a EuroGamer live bookmark and that does me. I'd buy Games TM if I noticed it in the right place at the right time (like in a shop before a long bus trip).

Must check out that Guardian blog.

A quick way to check game sites is to use an RSS reader. Grab RSS Owl, and set up some feeds in there, like:

    Eurogamer: http://www.eurogamer.net/rss/eurogamer_frontpage_feed.rss
    IGN (DS): http://scripts.ign.com/rss/ign.NintendoDS.2.0.xml
    IGN (PC): http://scripts.ign.com/rss/ign.PC.2.0.xml
    1UP (DS): http://www.1up.com/rss?x=1&p=NintendoDS
    Joystiq: http://www.joystiq.com/rss.xml

etc. etc. Alot of game sites have RSS feeds.

Worth looking into, and quicker than visiting 10 different sites every morning!
(Just added that Guardian blog too, thanks monument!)
