    Hi

Just wondering if anyone has used Ryans Garage in Blanchardstown and how they found them. Specifically for crash repairs. Was their service reliable and reasonably priced?

Also does anyone know the cost to tow a car?

    Thanks

cost to toe a car will vary depending on how far you're going. upwards of €200 anyway, as for Ryans crash repair, haven't had any experience of them on the crash repair side, but they generally look after their customers well

Thanks for that. Would it really be that expensive I'd be going from Clonsilla Rd to Blanch village. It's max a 10 min journey.

    Thanks again

there's usually a minimum call out fee, most people aren't bothered as the insurance covers it...

Ryans Garage, Top Class. The lads that work there are sound, Nice family owned buisness that don't try to rip you off. Id' recomend a car from them anyday. Personally just got an 06 Leon from them a few weeks ago, A pleasure to deal with and drove away with a bargain. Give them a try anyway.

Edit : Sorry, just re-read OP. I thought you were looking on an opinion on the garage in general.

    Hj

You should be able to get someone to tow you that distance for 80 Euro or less (as said, most will have a minimum fee of around that). Try to get someone local, they are less likely to go overboard.

If you are talking about the ex-Rover garage then I have no experience of them for crash repairs but after they charged me close to €400 to fit a set of wheel bearings and didn't service my car properly on another occassion I don't have a lot good to say about them except that the guy on the parts desk is very helpful.

Have had two cars off them, 02 Zr and 05 Zs.

Had to have light crash repair on the Zr....Not impressed at all.Shoddy workmanship...Fobbed off several times when complained.Got assessors report, response was "People will write anything if you're paying them €120"

That was in '02 though.Since then I've found they have pulled their socks right up.Would highly recomend their ;sales, service and parts department :) so possibly crash repair department too.

    Rip-off republic story coming up...

I broke down recently in Newry. Got a price for a tow to Dublin from a Newry recovery service - £150 (about €225). Quote from one of the more well known Dublin crowds - €420!

Newry guy could not have been more helpful. Absolute gent and made a bad situation bearable.

Ryans: no crash repair experience, bought a car from them and had it serviced there. They were average service-wise, and just as expensive as the rest. I'm not sure they have their own crash repair workshop, probably outsource it to a specialist.

For crash repair: I cannot recommend highly enough Linders of Chapelizod. We put a 307 in there with frontal damage, needed a fair bit of work, including airbag work (front and curtain). I was expecting to be able to notice the work. It came back perfect, and I mean absolutely perfect. Not a panel gap out by the slightest fraction of a mm, perfect paint job, interior absolutely prestine. They were brilliant. Job was very expensive but covered by insurance.

They picked up the car on a Saturday morning, covered by insurance also.

I know this is a question that can't be answered correctly but can anyone take a guess at how much it's likely to cose based on picture attached. I'm getting worried about the cost of this.

    It could be dear enough.
Maybe source the light from a breakers saving the expense of a new one.
The paintwork will probably involve painting the entire bumper and bonnet which could be costly.
