Nice hasn't a whole lot of things to do. Monaco, on the other hand, is a completely different kettle of fish...

Start off with the usual day time stuff - the palace, Grace Kelly's resting place, casino square, the harbour and so on.

Nite life - try the Columbus Hotel bar and then Stars and Bars. There's an English pub up in Fontville, can't think of the name off the top of my head, nice spot, bit of crack. Found the Irish bar to be a dump, full of English people, ironically.

I'll post more when I think of them.

    Hello
Regular visitor to Nice here :D (well 4 or 5 times)

Theres more than one Irish bar in Nice, theres at least 4 that I know of.
Theres one just at the "sea" end of the flower market thats very popular lately.
It's new, it opened last summer.I cant remember its name at the moment but its right on the corner of the flower market in the "old town"
Thor(an english bar)can be busy also on the flower market area, where theres loads of café's and restaurants.

Waynes bar is also good but the new Irish bar I mentioned has taken a lot of its custom lately!
If you are wandering around that part of town, you'll find them all anyway or ask at your hotel.
I've never not had a good time or not been Drunk in Nice :p

If you can hire a car and do a short drive down to Cannes or up to monaco.Theres lots to see in both especially monaco.
You can drive down the A8 too if you want and cross into Italy to the town of Ventimile (sp)- where at night I saw a huge and unusual open air ball room dancing comp once
You can get to these places by train too.
(By the way the small bill boards at the train stations have lots of aerlingus dot com adds for Ireland which is good to note)
    Mighty fine food :)

i was there once a few years back, we went into the Cafe de Parie outside the main casino in town and paid €15 for two glasses of Diet Coke

Go to the Casino in Monte Carlo. It's an experience. Pack your shirt and tie though! And lots of money.

It's called Ma Nolans (Taidi's place)
O'Neills up the road is another Irish bar
Nice is a bit of a dump in my opinion, the nightlife is crap,
although there are some nice restaurants, and the
    scenery is lovely..
I'd spend my time in Monaco..
