I'm sure I'm up there. Let's do downstream stats only.

Downstream Noise Margin: 4
Downstream Line Attenuation: 57

I'm synching at 3072/384 with a D-Link DSL-300T modem.

To rank in this competition, your Noise Margin should be as low as possible and the Line Attenuation as high as possible.

don't want to sound like a n00b, but how do u get these stats? is this from the modem setup page?

Probably in a modem status page. And lads, I want to see single digit numbers for the noise margin, not these good numbers over 15 dB... I'm curious to see how low the numbers can go with functional broadband.

I can't imagine that my line, in its present state, would pass eircom's line test. But it still delivers a happy 3Mbps less overheads.

Right now I'm getting the following on my BT BB Plus:

Connection Speed 1056 kbps
Line Attenuation 44 db
Noise Margin 6 db

It was 3db a few mins ago, and the bloody thing drops the connection every so often.

My line was dead on Tuesday, and since they fixed it you can hardly talk on the phone at times because of noise on the line, so my dodgy connection is hopefully only temporary (was at 440kbps yesterday)!

You shouldn't normally see a really low one, eircom has quite a high standard for a line before they'll pass it for DSL (although I suppose that may change at some point.)

Erm:
relative capacity occupation: 19%
noise margin downstream: 45.5 db
output power upstream: 1.5 dbm
attenuation downstream: 13.5 db

That doesn't look good, though I've never had problems with my connection and I can usually get about 200kB/s downloads from good servers. I'm on BT 2M/256k, probably about 2km from the exchange (assuming it's Roches St.).
Downstream Upstream
Max Allowed Speed (kbps) 3072 384
SN Margin (dB) 11.00 8.00
Line Attenuation (dB) 53.50 30.50
They seem pretty crap but its working grand very rarely drops on me

That's a top quality line you have there... I'd say you can get the full 8 Mbps if there were such a package.
