Homing pigeons?

Hey folks, I searched on google for a while, but can't really find any information about homing pigeons in Ireland. Do places sell them? How much would they cost? Do they make good pets? Do they come trained? I don't know much about them, just curious that's all :) Maybe in the future I'll follow up.
