I've yet to manage to get mine setup correctly with xlink as I think I have an incompatible wireless card for my laptop. You would need to connect your pc/ laptop to the wireless router using a cable though so that you can then set the wireless card into running in adhoc mode for comunicating with the PSP. They have a list of cards that do work with xlink on their webpage somewhere though.
