Bevel gear noise

Does anyone know anything about Bevel gears ? I have Kawasaki W650 with an overhead cam driven by a prop with bevel gears at the top and its been making some noise recently while starting from cold. The pipes have also been making a slight burbling noise on deceleration and I had a back fire yesterday. Has anyone any…

Has anyone any idea's before I go back to the muppets on the Long Mile Road again.
