Has anyone seen the Blue Yacht in the docks in the last week? Its a pretty amazing boat and is unbelievably well maintained, its here till next week and then its off to England to a dry dock to do some work on it for a few weeks and then it will be back here for about 5 months. The owner is an american but the captain is from Galway. If you have nothing to do, go and see it. You can see its masts over most of the buildings in Galway. I should have a few shots of it soon if you cant be arsed.

Heres a few photos I took today, Its a very dull day so the shots are a bit crap but you get the idea!

Heres some info on the boat: Hetairos

The quality of the finish on the boat is unreal, I would not like to guess the value of the boat. The interior alone is like something from a 19th century french mansion. Its a bit over the top for my liking, but everyone to their own!

In my first post I said I would take some photos, I then quoted myself saying that to confirm it to "cgf"

AFAIK, it's owned by a German, and is worth somewhere in the tens of millions. It's skipper is from Claddagh, and they bring it into Galway each year.

Saw it sailing out in September, and it is truly beautiful!

Now that I think about it I can remember it (or something similar) sailing out. I was on the bay myself that day and we chased it out as far as blackrock.. She's well able to move even with a mild breeze

So you're one of the boy-(boat)-racers keeping me awake all night blowing your foghorn and doing donuts in the bay?

It's cool seeing the masts above the apartments in the morning though, it's a bit timewarpy.

That'd be me. I have my ride pimped out with chrome bars, full navigation system, big mega spotlights and tuned on 2 stroke power!

She also does quite magnificant doghnuts! :)

Whats this about my horn though?!

The Captain was on Galway Bay FM, one morning about a month ago. as far as I can remember it was built in 1991 for 15million. and has 7 full time crew, and will be here untill May when its owners will go for a carribean cruise.

Money to burn. 7 full time staff, just for a couple of weeks cruise
