Got House of the Dead: Overkill for €9.99 in Curry's, was marked as €12.97 but was further reduced at the till. Also picked up a hand cannon to go with it in Argos, also €9.99. Both in Galway stores.

It's good but you'd get it for a fiver anywhere preowned, so I wouldn't bother going out of my way to get it new for almost double the price. You can often also pick it up in a double pack with another game - the name of which eludes me - for 9.99 new.

Cryostasis is only 4.95 on Gamersgate just for today. At that price it is well worth it. An incredibly atmosphereic and at parts creepy game. Plus it has the best ice/snow effects I have ever seen in a game. Puts the likes of lost planet to shame.

Got it for free with my graphics card. Must reinstall it. It is indeed a creepy slow game not too dissimilar to Condemned. The environmental effects are really nicely done.

Just bought it there. Thanks for the heads up about that one. I'm moving away from buying games from Steam because of the crazy € prices compared to the $ prices. Not bought a full price game off Steam in almost a year. Thanks

I think Need for Speed Shift is €25/30 for PS3/360 in Tesco. It was at the weekend. Not too sure if it still is. Apologies if it isn't anymore.

Gamersgate are having good sale this month. You can get some good deals. For some reason, this week they swithed their currency from euros to dollars but as far as I can tell, the actual numbers stayed the same.

You can get majesty 2 for about 5 quid:

    Here's the whole list.

I'm thinking of getting Prey for less than a fiver.

1C publishing are doing an Advent Calendar thing as well on there with a cheap game every day this month.

I am soon to finish COD:MW2 so I may trade it in for it, we'll see....

There's a new 1.05 patch coming soon, so the game is still being supported - reckon I will go back to it again at some point!

Also in ILAC on Henry St, picked a copy up yesterday. Nice to see bricks-and-mortar stores coming close to online retail prices for once!

It's also worth checking their XBox 360 preowned section - they had a lot of good stuff for fairly cheap - Burnout Paradise for 12, The Darkness for 6. If I remember anything else I'll add it to the thread.

I think you meant "€39.99" - that's how much it is in my local Gamestop.

Was wondering why you'd bother posting such an unremarkable 'bargain'. ;)

Left 4 Dead 2 is £15 on Amazon.co.uk (PC version)
You'll need to order something else along with it to avail of free shipping to Ireland though

    Dragon Age is also the same price;

Afaik you can order in STG on Amazon, so £30 for those 2 worked out at whatever your credit card's conversion rate is - fecking bargain!

Absolutely MASIIVE SALE on Steam for Christmas. Running from now, until the 3rd of Jan. Some publisher packs on sale (Eidos Pack etc) as well as daily deals.

Be careful though. not all the games on sale are a bargain, due to the original price being so high in the first place. Take Batman for example. It's €33.49 on it's own (down from a ludrious price of €49.99). Not a bargain at all and can easily be gotten cheaper from other retailers. But when the Eidos pack is €45.99 and it contains, Batman, Two Battlestations games, Bot DEUS EX games, Hitman collection, some Tomb Raider games, Kane and Lynch and plenty more, it's quite a bargain.

    Stalker for €2
    Braid for €2.24

GTA 4 for 7 euro on steam

assuming you can put up with the insane number of other crappy programs you have to install with it it's quite the game for 7 euro

Indeed . . . I think I will pick up Company of Heroes: Gold for €7 too.

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl for €2 - anyone who doesn't have it already would be insane not to get it.
