You didn't even call the person a treasonous bastard (not that it would have been any more acceptable in that case), you just promised to explain treason to them while calling them a bastard.
Personal abuse is not tolerated at any point in any forum (except TCN perhaps), News/Media is no different.
You're not the first, you won't be the last and you're only gone for a week, so try to be positive about the whole thing.

Your post was off topic and abusive. No real harm in being a bit off topic, or telling someone to buy irish.. but calling them a bastard (and in your first sentence at that) will often result in a ban.

Attack the post and not the poster is a good rule of thumb.

Ban's not permanent anyway. Wait it out and learn your lesson.
