does any-one know of an Irish based eng works etc that would rechrome a set of fork stanchions.

My set on a 1982 kaw ltd750 are pitted and want to get it ready for the summer. It's been out of action for a year.

Looked on the web and found a place in Eng that will do them for euro150 plus my postage over -thats for me dis-assemlying them. Euro300 fully intact.

    Thanks

just rang manley and they quoted e160 for the job.

manley will only do hard chrome - which I think is a dull finish

The place in Eng will do a shiney new chrome !!

will check tout the shipping costs to eng and see then,

    thx

might be worth your while getting new stanchions, as they will last longer than re-chromed ones

No, hard chroming is what is applied to forks, hydraulic rams, etc., then precision ground to the correct diameter, as opposed to the electroplated shiny shiny decorative chrome.
