It's actually not good if you're unfit.... Voice of experience here, the ball never goes out of play and it's only 5 a side so ya gotta keep working really hard

If any one works with the likes of Lucozade or Powerade or knows some one who can get a load free that be handy. Also can any one get a hold of a defibrillator? Just in case!

Why are Wed almost as boring as mon and tue, I wish it was saturday, I just wanna play football, I say we should stick to the pheno for a few weeks, It's an easy location that everyone knows and can get to easily enough, No point in forkin out money for an astro turf, I'm already broke all the time anyway,

    Compliments of Met Éireann
Cold and frosty for a time Friday night, but breezy later with milder conditions spreading from the Atlantic. Rain in western half of the Country on Saturday, but mainly dry in the East. Drier in West Saturday night, but patchy rain in East. Mild and windy on Sunday with rain in all areas, persistent and locally heavy.

So it will be cold but dry ppl, Wrap up nicely!!!!

Please don't let the weather throw you off folks. It's fun to play in the rain and when you're running around, you will not get cold!

Hehe, I don't think we'll be getting sponsorship from anyone just yet;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 317 ✭✭kellxor.1337

Yeah I'll be there as well.

I think we should keep dumping this till Friday and then get it confirmed then. When the weekend is closer more people will know their plans and have a better idea if they can play or not

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,618 ✭✭✭raheny red

I'd be very interested lads, but the problem is I can't make Saturdays as I am involved with a club already :(:) . However, I would be willing to play in the summer if the interest is still there! :)

The Astro in Coolock is actually good - I was there last night and is just the same as the one in Tallaght  i.e they are the same company AFAIK...

If this really does get off the ground why not join a LEAGUE

My mates and I started up a team last summer out of nothing and now we are playing ball every week and enjoying ourselves.........CLICK

yeah, even though after hours is probably the most popular forum, I'd say a lot of people tend to avoid it. I wonder would they put up a banner for us? They usually do for boards beers and all that, maybe they could:)

Put in a request anyway:) I think they usually take time for approval. I'd say next saturday will have a better turn out than this Saturday, especially if we get a banner up and I'd say I could bring at least one friend. For those going this Saturday, if the turn out isn't good, please give it a chance next Saturday too:)

ill be there (providing my league match is on a sunday this week)

will know for sure on thurs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 432 ✭✭Catch_22

op i would suggest using a mail alias to maintain this if it takes off,
its about the only way to do it.

ill be interested in having a go at some point if it does take off , but my leg is currently in plaster due to football :( so it will be a while before i do.

That's no excuse! Be there on Saturday or you're not welcome, ever:p

What exactly do you mean by a mail alias? As in, getting everyones email address and reminding them each week?

Hopefully your league match will be Sunday Gileadi:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,032 ✭✭✭FrankGrimes

so is this going to be a proper 11 a side game?

I'm hoping to be on for it (if I get enough work done in the gaff saturday morning I'll be able to make it) - 3pm this Saturday in Phoenix Park right? Can one of you PM me your mobile number so I can give you a shout if I'm in the wrong place?

Whats numbers looking like, reckon I could get another couple

Good to see boards is a friendly as ever :D
    cormie wrote:

as in using a mailing list, such as egroups or onelist to get info as to how many are available for any given week. As i said this is only if it becomes successful, you will have to give it a few weeks to see if it is, but from experience the mailing list is the best way to go in terms of maintaing it if you want it to become a weekly game.

Could somebody point out the place using the map here? I'm not too sure where in the park it is. If you navigate to the park, zoom in, press print screen, then open ms paint and paste it, then you can mark on the image where it is. You can also zoom in even further and get a satellite view of it and add that to the image, then save the image as a jpeg and upload it with your next post:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,731 ✭✭✭el rabitos

its pretty easy to find. theres only 1 main road in the park. u go up to the popes cross and follow the road around, theres about 20 pitches on the left of the road

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,845 ✭✭✭✭cormie

Woops, I meant to add this link to the last post for the map:)

    BLUE = FOOTBALL PITCHES
