    Youre telling me.

kayak club has to train in the canal.
Although the swimming club *does* get to train in the aquatic centre for free, since the pool closed.

    Oh we spoil you so...
The following are the opening times for the college pool:

    Weekdays:
12:30-18:00 for students (till 7 for staff)

    Weekends:12:00 - 14:00 (till 3 for staff)

Any societies should have there stuff on after 7 but don't think thats been fully worked out yet.

Basically its got new railings, new ladders, bit of a paint job, tiling in the changing rooms...
the toilets and showers are much the same though i'm afraid.

    *sigh*
Been bumped back to Monday the 20th now...
    *sigh*
Despite the S.U telling us that the pool will definitely be opened Monday 13th Feb, we have now been informed that that date will be extended to Monday the 20th. I have spoken to Colm Nelson who has assured me that the pool will open on this date.

My friend was just over there and there's currently no water in the pool!

So has anyone been to the pool since it opened yesterday...or should I say if it opened yesterday....

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,374 ✭✭✭Gone West

Yeah I was swimming and went to kayak training there yesterday.
The pool is actually pretty nice. Apparently theres not a whole lot of improvement, but its fine for me. Price is right too.

    nope.

Went to the pool today....seemed a bit cleaner all round....place has gotten a lick of paint & a new anti-slip floor.....seems to be more water in the pool, there's also a bar all the way around attached to one row of new tiles...but other than that, the bottom of the pool was already littered with dirt and there's no radiators in the changing rooms....although the showers were lovely and warm

??? Littered with dirt??? I was gonna start using the pool but that comment has made me think again. Is the pool generally clean or is it a dirty momma?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 765 ✭✭✭Smurfpiss

    you'll be fine.
I was first in the pool last monday. It was a bit dirty on the bottom but thats cause of the feckin builders.
Its still quite clean and all though..
was fecking packed all day today.

I haven't been to the pool before, is it usually really packed? I don't want to go if it is...

It's so small that if more than 10people are using it, it feels packed.

Are there lanes or do people just float about

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 765 ✭✭✭Smurfpiss

No lanes as standard but we set them up if its full of wasters getting in people's way...
It's a bit mad at the moment since everybody is checking it out but sure come along anyway.
