Ok, I am posting this for a mate who lives in Meath. He is on Chorus. The think is that he heard if you buy a decoder, and get some sort of a card that you can get a load of tv channels, like if you had digital TV. Is this legal, and where would he be able to buy the card. He does not want to pay corus the subscription for the card. Anyone any ideas?

Sounds like he is talking about FTA satellite. You can buy a dish/decoder for a once off payment and have BBC/ITV and loads more (mostly tripe) for free.

He plud this decoder into the back of his pipe and it works through their, no dish at all.

That would be pirating cable TV, which is in theory possible, but then so is stealing a car.

Maybe you'd have more luck in the cable forum.
