I will keep you posted of developments.

The investigation team, led by Superintendent Eddie Quirke and gay liaison officer Inspector Philip King
wish to extend their thanks to the members of the gay community who made contact with them in the course of the investigation and appeal to any other victims of the attacker who have not reported it to make contact.

Seperate to this, three men were arrested in relation to the attack over christmas at christchurch and the investigation team are awaiting directions from the DPP in this matter.

All in all, good news for everyone,

A 32 year old man appeared in Court on
the 20th Feb on charges relating to the robbery of a gay man on Sat Feb 11th in the South inner city. The attack occurred at approx 2 am when the victim was propositioned by the attacker posing as a gay man cruising. The attacker then produced a syringe and robbed the victims wallet and cash.
Investigating Gardai in Kevin Street, having studied cctv footage identified a suspect who was arrested on the 20th and interviewed in connection with the crime. He was charged and appeared in Kilmainham Court where he was remanded on bail. Will keep updated of court outcome.
