I'm hoping to go to a Man Utd match at Old Trafford in April, either the Arsenal or Middlesborough game.

Just wondering what people think is the best/cheapest way of organising this:

    1) Arrange tickets, flights, accomadation etc. seperately
    2) Use a tour operator. Which tour operators are the best??

Tour operators are best, keep an eye in the sun or one of the newspapers.. match packages pop up there all the time. Or you can google, you'll find something pretty quick.

I would not go with tour operators..they rip you off they give you mad prices of 300+ euros for a 1 night stay.

Best thing to do is join a supporters club, in my club a weekend cost around 210 euro, this includes match ticket, boat, bus to manchester from holyhead and vice versa and 2 nights b&b in a hotel.

I have personally began to travel my own way, i get my tickets, try and get a cheap flight and the train to manchester if neeed be.
For example last week against fulham as it was a 5.15 ko i was able to fly into Blackpool for €25 and get the train to Manchester, i was there at about 3.30, i then got the ferry home that nite and at home at 6.30 on sunday morning. In all my travelling only cost about €70 that was the flight, boat and trains.

Yep couple of yrs ago was in the Man U supporters club and always managed to get tickets, but never for any big games..
I'd say get in touch with your local supporters club and go from there..

As for traveling, get the boat across if your driving, I did it on the bus couple of yrs ago, dublin - Manchester..

i have never really had a problem getting tickets for big games.......... once you get in the night the trip opens, and the good thing is the price of the weekend does not go up if it is a big match like liverpool or arsenal

Best to do it yourself and avoid being ripped off by tour operators. Even though Norwich isn't the best of places to get to I can do a weekend for circa €100

try one united,i use to get between 4 or 5 tickets a season with them,if you lucky with tickets they inform you 6 weeks prior to the game so you have plenty of time to plan a head with flights, hotels etc

Not sure about prices of Match tickets at OT, but Iv'e been to Anfield a couple of times and am gouing again next month. The last tme I went we flew out on the friday and back on th e Monday. Total cost , including hotel and match ticket came to €250 a head. Of that the match ticket was just under €50, the hotel was under €110 and the rest was flight.

If you go on the friday evening and come back on sunday evening (like we're doing this time) it costs about €120 more, even though you're stayign a night less( my cousin has work commitments on the friday so we have to do it that way) as teh flights cost a lot more on weekends.

Look in the evening hearld on a tuesday or wednesday, there is a section for all the football supporters clubs, where they meet and contact numbers for enquiries

the link below is all the official local supporters clubs listed on manutd.com
how we do it locally in our supporters club is that you join your local club and one united and our local branch are then given 5 games through the season (maybe different depending on branch member numbers)where there are 30-40 approx match tickets guaranteed for each trip. This seasons games have been Liverpool, and coming up Sunderland and Birmingham cant remeber the other 2 sorry. Also on top of that there is a match book for every game which is 2 tickets so if say i wanted to go i put a request into the local club for a ticket if no-one else applies i get a ticket if more than 2 apply there is a draw to see which 2 get tickets. For example im going to the Sunderland game in April its a 3 night stay going on a Friday and back on Monday by boat. Trip consists of all transportation needed, match ticket, 3 nights b&b in a hotel €280.

    List Of Supporters Clubs

hope this if some help to you. personally i would join a local supporters branch
as the tour operators are out to make a quick euro form you (my opinion).
    Just a

Can you just buy the tickets direct from Man Utd? My dad and my uncle are doing a bit of a tour of the english grounds, a couple a season. They've been to White Hart Lane and I took them to Anfield, now they want to go to Old Trafford. WOuld'nt mind seeing it myself.

only on match days and you could be queing for a couple of hours,at old trafford any way

You can only get tickets direct from OT if you are a One United member, unless a game does not sell out and the tickets go on general sale.......

this only really happens for cup games.........and 1 or 2 lge games.

You should check the website for updates about ticket sales just in case a game does fgo on general sale, but as i said above this is sometimes very rare.
