Fly with Ryanair 20 Min worth paying the extra for flights on Friday Sat and Sun so you spend less on accommodation, Although Fri before a match day is a good night out in Liverpool:D

Try getting a ticket first. I'm going to try to get over before the end of the season too, but I've no idea where to start to look for a ticket, rather than from a tout.

a mate of mine went over to liverpool for a weekend and decided to go the match, it was against west brom AFAIK he got his ticket that day from the ticket office and his seats were for the KOP end.

From what i have heard for most liverpool home games (obviously lower teams) there are a few available at the ticket office on the day

Ive been once this season and am going to the charlton game on 3rd march. It works out around €200 for flights and accomodation if you fly out on firday and come back monday. I'm going with my cousin to the charlton game and he cant get friday or monday off so we have to fly out friday evening and back on sunday evening. It ended up costing us €100 more than going for the extra night.

Thats flying with Ryanair and staying in the ibis or similar hotels.

Got tickets for the Arsenal game on Tuesday on the first morning of general release, just kept ringing, got 2 in the kop.

Its midweek so flights would be cheaper and I've got cousins in Liverpool for Accomodation, don't go near tour operators tbh.

Im going with Ryanair both ways, tbh never even thought to chesck different airlines for each leg. We booked 3 weeks ago and th eclosest (cheap) accomodation we could get was the premier travel inn (liverpool north, the city centre ones were booked. http://www.premiertravelinn.com/pti/dropdownSearch.do

Try this number to book accommodation, I got a good deal through them the last time I was in Liverpool on match weekend.

0044 845 601 1125 - This is the official liverpool tourist board accommodation finder I think.

I'm going to the Benfica game - we are flying to manchester cos the flights to liverpool were pricey. My brother has a great contact for tickets so he can them for when ever he wants. All in all its costing us €155 including accomodation.

ps has anyone stayed in the Adelphi before - I've heard some dodgy stories:o

The fact that is was built for the Titanic passengers should give you some sort of insight!

Wouldn't stay anywhere apart from the Radisson or Crown Plaza to be honest.

Cheers, any help is much appreciated. I managed to get tickets to the chelsea game last october without much trouble.i would have thought this game would be easier.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, if I hear another engaged tone, I'm going to start smashing phones. If anyone has any spare tickets to the Charlton game, I'll take them.

I've stayed in the Moate House once and the Gladstone (close to the train station) lots of times. I'd recommend both, although it was 5/6 years ago.

The Moat is gone now, knocked down as part of the Paradise St redevelopment for the capital of culture in 2008 when I expect Hotel prices in Liverpool to normalise with the rest of the Uk unfortuneatly.

Good stuff, enjoy the game. All you need to do now is try and get a ticket for the Benfica game on the following Wed and you'll have a week in liverpool to look forward too.:D :D

I stayed there for Champions league SF. Massive hotel. Not a bad room old world. There was a guy in front of us who came down to reception to change his room twice. Not sure of the issue. The rate you have is fab. I think rack rate can be as much as £200 per night. The bar service in residents bar was poor and staff bit rude - well the manageress was anyhow. Old one sits in the bar who is SCARY. She tries to pick young fellas up - worth having a look. Massive buffet breakfast in the morning. Escort services left cards under the doors of the hotel rooms ! La Femme if I remember correctly.
