    Hi,

I have 2 point of TV in my house coming from one main point outside, does it matter which point I use for the internet? or does it have to be connected to the main point? also if one point is connected, do I lose tv there?

No, you can use whatever point for der internet.

Well the wire is either connected to the tv or the modem at once, so I guess you'd need a splitter to use both at the same time. Would there be a degradation in the TV signal quality if you did this? I would say... "um, maybe!"

That's what I'm interested in. I already have a splitter on the main line. I guess the best way would be to install a Y splitter one for the internet and the other one will have another Y splitter for tv line?

You can connect it to any TV point and no, you won't lose TV at that point, they will add a splitter, so one cable will go to TV, the other will go to the modem.

BTW they wil install an extra TV point if you like.

tbh I would insist on a dedicated point for the modem..less things to troubleshoot should things go wrong.would have little or no effect on tv reception if split but might affect your modem transmit levels ;)

It wouldn't make a difference, the installers are just going to a split off the exisiting cable anyway.

If the other point has a reverse path filter it wont work

Their splitter makes a tiny difference in TV quality. It's just about noticeable on the weaker channels, eg Discovery and C4.
