Things may have just gotten worse for Le Arse, Reyes has just been carried off. He is been replace by Pires. Bolton are good value for there lead though.

Also Everton have just taken the lead against Blackburn

are everton down to ten men? I heard turner got sent off,
so do they have an outfield player in goals, or are they playing their 4th choice goalkeeper?

    //yet they are winning.

They brought on the keeper on the bench.

I know :( They took McFadden off for James Ruddy, he must be fourth choice.

Their 'keeper was sent off for a deliberate handball according to Soccernet.

Turner was sent off for handball outside the bos, Ruddy (teenager) in goals now. With Nigel M and Wright injured and Turner now suspended we may see Chris Woods making an apperance on the bench in the next few weeks!

    Boro 2 - 0 Chelsea!  :D

    Mike.

This will probably be the first time this season that we will see Chelsea having to come from 2 goals behind. Jose will not be happy

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Boro appalling recent record yet bossing Chelsea, Liverpool sunk playing the same team. I guess what they say is true - goals change games (and fortunes)!

    Mike.

    At least my week's wages are safe, come on Charlton, disgusted with Chelsea's performance watched the whole first half;

don't understand why Geremi is playing, perhaps he used to be good but nowadays he is pure awful, Lampard is having an off-day. Joe COle has to be taken off,
    They need to go

    ___________Cech__________________
    Carvalho ________Terry __________Huth
    _____________Maniche________________
    Cole____Lampard __ Essien___Robben
    _______Crespo____________Gudjohnsen

and bring on Wright Philips for cole after a while,

If only Duffers was in the squad.

    Watched the whole first half.

Boro have been excellent, but a 2 goal lead is pretty flattering. Chelsea have only had one real chance to equalise, when Schwarzer spilled a long-range Essien effort and had to scramble the rebound away from Crespo's feet.

Yakubu, playing on his own up front, has been brilliant. And for the first time in a long while Boro's defence looks well-organised!

If there's a weak link I'd exploit in the 2nd half if I were Chelski, it'd be Pogatetz at left-back. Switch Robben to the right or replace Cole with SWP, and just run at him. Doesn't look premiership quality. Also, tell Crespo to stop coming deep - it leaves Chelski's midfield with no option but to shoot from long-range as there's then nobody in the box to cross to.

Having said all that, COME ON BORO!:D

C.Cole and wright-philips are been brought on for Chelsea instead of Germini and Joe Cole

as usual blackburn probably wont be able to capitalise on a team down to 10 men

Hopefully they will. There's still a good thirty to forty minutes to go. Everton are very good at defending a lead though.

Fulham are 3-0 up against West Brom.

By the way, is Duff injured for Chelsea or just out of favour?

Chelsea are playing awful, they do not deserve to come back and will not.
I refuse to watch any more of it.
Can anyone reccommend a good book?

He came on against Liverpool last weekend but went off injured after 10 mins or so.

Babayaro off for Newcastle. Villa could get back into it now.

Sergio Peter on for Emerton in the Blackburn game. Hopefully he can show why people at the club are labelling him the new MGP.

That just about sums up Chelsea this afternoon. Robben shoot over the bar from close range

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,054 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

Fulham 4 up now. Shay given has saved a penalty also

That a boy Shay. I brought him into my fantasy team for Reina. Think he gets a few points for a peno save.

An update on the Arsenal Game. They are really putting on the pressure now. Bolton Keeper has just pulled off an outstanding save from a Pires shot. Arsenal have also had a shot cleared off the line.

With less than 10 mins to go they still trail 0-1

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,054 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

Into the final mins of this afternoons games,

    Arsenal 0 Bolton 1
    Villa 1 Newcastle 2
    Everton 1 Blackburn 0
    Boro 3 Chelsea 0
    Fulham 5 WBA 0

Arsenal should have won it there. Another shot cleared from the line.

    Ft 1-1

Fair play to Jose Mournhio. He waited for every 'Boro player to leave the pitch before he went down the tunnel. Hopefully he will give them the credit they deserve, in his post match interview.

    Delighted for Chelsea.

what a bunch of marvelous results for spurs :)
wigan lose, blackburn lose, bolton and arsenal both drop points.

now, if only i could have had liverpool AND wigan lose , and hopefully portsmouth win this afternoon as well!

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,054 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

and hopefully portsmouth win this afternoon as well!

That may just happen now. Whenever Chelsea drop points this season, Man Utd have not been able to capitalize on it.

You said it. Two away losses in a row. We badly need a win against Sunderland at Ewood on Wednesday night.

    Mike.

All I can say is, wow! Anyone have 'Boro down in their predictions? I wonder what odds you would have gotten on a 3-0 win.
Not relishing watching the United game, bad record at Fratton Park since Pompey joined the Premiership, two defeats in two games...well we're due a win, and a welcome win with Chelsea dropping points. Maybe we can't catch them, but hopefully trim the gap to a respectable amount of points.

Sky Sports just said Middlesbrough were 100/1 to win 3-0.

Be surprised if ANYONE took them up on that though.

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,054 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

Just noticed that Ruud is Captain today
