The fading would be the main problem with it, it looks like he cant get a consistent black to stay in the skin, thing is that he was able to do it for the outlines as they are quite dark still, in stark contrast to the fill which looks like a dark grey wash, normally and artist has to dilute an ink with water to get that shade.
It also looks like there are a few blowouts, which are basically where the ink is put in too deep and it seeps under the layers of skin and blurs the outlines.
You can see this on some of the points where they turn into round blobs instead of points, that's really about not knowing the basics, blowouts are a total no-no.
The only good thing about this tattoo is that he definitely hasn't overworked the skin and it doesn't look like it is badly scarred so it should be easy enough to turn into a good enough tattoo ( as good as standard non-descript crappy tribal can be) by another artist reworking it in the future, chances are though that whoever owns this is happy.
The linework is also pretty shakey in parts, but not that easy to make out with the photo quality and size.
It does look freehand too, he should be using a stencil and folding the paper in the middle to get it symettrical, it's not rocket science.

A big fucking haha towards those two images. You have to admit it's very easy for the average consumer to get one of these with not enough proper education around about them and lack of awareness towards what a good tattoo artist is.

The worst thing is a lot of people that are getting tattooed by him are people who are underagers, just cos they can't get anybody else to do it. Other people just go in, not realizing that theres actually bad artists out there.
I talked to him about tattooing me when I was 15, cos I knew the guy I wanted to do it wouldn't. I knew absolutley nothing about tattoos then, or at least not too much, so me not being able to shut up ever,kinda kept talking and bombarded him with questions and such. After about ten minutes I realized there was no way he was touching me, bascially cause he wasn't happy answering any of my questions and seemed to take it as a personal insult that I was asking questions in the first place. Plus he said if he did it he was gonna make the design smaller, which there was no need at all to do, considering it wasn't a huge piece or anything.
Ah, so glad I wait now. Ended up getting it at 17, by the guy I wanted to do it and for 70 euro less, what he quoted me...all is good, blah, blah.
