Hi I've just found out that I've been offered an Erasmus place in Roma next year :) yey!

Was wondering if anyone here has any info for me.

If you've been already and have any stories or advice (to Italy or otherwise) or else if you're going as well and would like to chat about how exciting it will be!

Or else if you're from Rome or Italy or you've lived there or been on holidays, any info would be good:

Where to eat, where to drink, where to stay, where to visit or any college or boring admin type advice etc.

Even you're Erasmus nostalgia stories would be fun to read :)

    Thanks a mil...

    hey there!

I and some of my mates were in Rome for the 2004/5 term and it was amazing!! I have to give you so much advice because before I left no one told me anything! What Uni are you going to? I was in Roma Tre which was pretty crap but everything else was brilliant! You never go to college anyway because you're too busy doing other stuff. Know where you're gonna live yet? I can recommend areas to you, just find out your university first. I lived near Trastevere which was perfect but others I knew were in Piramide, Termini, Bologna so I can advise!! BEST YEAR EVER! And you're picked the best city to go to. From April onward you'll just live on the beach as well.:)

Hey thanks for the reply, it's always good to hear from someone who's had the experience to get all the info and advice!

I am going to Roma Tre and I'm mega excited just thinking bout it! All advice that you can give me on both the college and Rome itself is welcome cus I know hardly anything about it. The co-ordinator has told us nothing and the Roma Tre website's pretty crappy!

I'm studying History of Art and Italian and so Rome is pretty much the best place to be for both those things! I heard that Trastevere is an ideal location for living cus it's nice and close to everything. I haven't found a place to stay yet. I've been looking on some websites but it's all a bit arbitrary unless you get to see the place you know? I've been getting mixed advise on going about getting accomodation, some say go through an agency and some say that's the worst thing you can do!

My main worry is the cost. How much did you pay on rent and socialising etc? But I'd love some advice on best clubs/restaurants that sort of thing as well...

    Grazie mille :D
