    The subject is being discussed over on Blacknight’s forum http://forum.search.ie/t119-site-review.html and it sparked off some interesting debate.

    I understand it is controversial from some points of view, however, I would be interested in your views/criticism form this forum on the subject.

    Well apart from the ICANN stuff, I think it would be better (worst case) to redelegate .ie ccTLD to a proper, industry backed registry rather than creating a new tld that most people would not see (due to the problem of not being in any zonefiles of ISPs).

    I've seen efforts like this before and they generally run up against the brick wall of an installed userbase.
