cheapest way of trading stocks?

    i was just wondering how people on here trade their stocks and shares? what is the best and cheapest way of doing this? i know online trading is the quickest and cheapest but which is the best broker to go through?

    To play it safe i'd go through the banks....no threat of losing you're money then...However others disagree!

    For trading in the US I use Choicetrade.com $5 per share.

    Easy to use.

    I use http://www.sharewatch.com. Its easy and cheap. If you know what you want to buy you deposit the money and go online and buy. It is cheap to use becasue it doesn't supply any first hand knowledge its exacuateion only.

    But you're running a risk of them going broke aren't you? It's all nominee a/c with them so its a sustained risk at that.

    I know hoodlessbrennan always are going on about how they are the cheapest! but their 7Gbp a trade (first month is free). UK shares only i think.
