Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

DEVOTION presents Toolbox Recording's 5th Birthday Tour - a celebration of 5 banging Toolbox years. So what have Toolbox managed to squeeze in during those 5 short years? Let's start with the artists: Alan Thompson, Paul Glazby, Testube Babies, Simon Eve, Energy UK DJs, George E, DMF, Marc Johnson, James Nardi, Julian Dwyer, Project Mayhem, Aftermath, Alex Calver, Tim Priestley, Justin Bourne, Dynamic Intervention, Caspar, Tim Clewz, Pete Wardman, Ryan Fisher, Diss-cuss, 99th floor Elevators, Knuckleheadz, DJ Gonzalo, Steve thomas, Dave Owens, Paul King, Nik Denton have all featured on the main label at least once. That's at least 28 artists spread over 30 discs. As well as 30 releases on the main label there have been Toolbox Whites and more recently in 2005, a selection of exclusive Toolbox downloads and the whole back catalogue available digitally for those who like it that way. There have been two 'What's Your Pleasure' albums, one as a full CD release, the other available as a digital album only, and if all that wasn't enough, they have clocked up a whopping 55 tour nights and manged to give their logo a facelift three times!

Toolbox is one of the few remaining labels releasing quality hard house tracks with any sort of relation to the original sound and you can be guaranteed that Nik Denton and Dave Owens will take the roof off at DEVOTION.

    Nik Denton

Nik Denton has been DJing and producing on the hard house scene since the latter end of the nineties. As a producer, his first studio effort was a collaboration with Paul King, which originally set out to be released on Tony de Vit's TDV label. The track 'You know' ended up being used as the B side to Paul's Trauma release 'Higher' on Tidy Trax and went top 5 in the national dance charts.. From that point Nik and Paul worked together on many projects, releasing most of them as white labels through Amato under the guise Overload. In the six years producing Nik has now sold somewhere in the region of 80,000 records world wide and this does not include the countless number of compilations that include his tracks. Compilations you can catch Nik on include SERIOUS SOUND OF SONIQUE, TIDY BOYS - THE ANNUAL, HARD HOUSE EUPHORIA mixed by Lisa Pin Up, EXTREME EUPHORIA mixed by Lisa Lashes, INSOMNIA mixed by Paul Glazby, INSOMNIA 3 mixed by Jez and Charlie and many more world wide. More recently he has featured on INFINITY mixed by Lisa Pin up and EXTREME EUPHORIA mixed by Anne Savage.

Nik has graced the decks at some of the UK's finest clubbing establishments and hard house nights. These include Trade, Sundissential, Afterssential, Insomniacz, Torture Garden, Sinergy, Cheeky little Monkey, Passion, Smile, XLR8, Toast and his long standing residency at Debauchery in Southampton.

    Dave Owens

UK Hard Dance DJ & Producer.
Label Manager of Hammerheads, a Toolbox Recordings sublabel.

Dave’s DJ career now spans over six years and in that time he has graced the decks at clubbing institutions such as Insomniacz, Housework, Insekt, Byte, Ultim-8, Incisions, Hard Up North, Out of Order, Toast, Housewives Choice, Forbidden, and was also a resident at PureFilth in Manchester.

When in the studio, Dave’s productions always come out at the harder end of the scale, some would call it fierce! Productions to date include his devastating remix of Paul King and Nik Denton’s 'You’ll Know', his co-produced release on Passion 'Keep On'. His solo effort on Hammerheads 'Ghosts In The Machine' and what is probably his biggest achievement so far, the release of 'Graduate' on Vicious Circle. So Dave has already pretty much had the scenes seal of approval. With two more tracks already licensed to Toolbox and a string of tracks and guises waiting in the sidelines 2006 looks to be the Chinese year of the Munkjack…

***Free copies of Toolbox Volume 1 to be given away on the night***

To celebrate their 5th birthday, Toolbox have released Toolbox Vol. 1 with two discs - one apiece from Paul King and Nik Denton.

Both discs also include two bonus tracks each. The Paul King remix of 'I’ll be There' is available as a full length single, along with Paul’s mix of the classic 'Save the Day' by Diss-Cuss. The Testube Babies remix of Aftermath’s 'Underworld' joins the much talked about Dave Owens mix of 'Alright' by F1 as the two remaining exclusive tracks. 'Alright' has been confirmed as the 30th release on the label, but this mix will never be released on vinyl.

It's true to say that Toolbox has grown over the years, becoming one of the most respected labels on the hard house scene and unlike some, is still here to break new artists and is still staying true to the sound of hard house. This album will undoubtedly will be everything a Toolbox fan expects and more.
