Opinions on Rag Trip?!

yeh, that was odd, we only had one marshal on our bus too, whereas with the F-RAG trip there was three to a bus.

the frag trip had more stewards cause it was only a small trip and freshers got involved. (mainly due to lack of tickets).

while tickets for this trip sold out, people generally didnt seem that bothered that they werent going

yes yes i did!

And they way they went on about the security team, i expected to see about 10 + security people there not bloody 2!

On the day i had pink hair anyway, most people remember me because of that.

i didnt make it on the day as it happened, which is why im commenting on the aftermath i saw, and eye witness reports from all my ditsu buddies, as well as last years.

You'd need a circular saw to peirce the rubber of a bus tyre and at that, you'd want to stand well back. The amount of pressure in a bus tyre could probably do you a good bit of damage.

I did work experience in the Air Corps in transition year and there was a huge fire engine out at casement that they were giving us a demonstration on. They claimed that if you were within 10 meters of the tyre when it poped they gauranteed you that you wouldn't be able to have an open casket at your funeral. Those tyres had about twice the amount of pressure in them as a coach would, so even if you dive like TJ hooker when they pop, the out come will most likely not be pretty. :v:

i remember you, i was on bus 30, you were trying to get everyone moved to the top cos thats were the bus was boarding... it took ages for them to go...

"Dear Staff and Students of DIT,

DIT Students Union wishes to apologise unreservedly for the unacceptable
behaviour witnessed in Aungier Street, Bolton Street and Mountjoy Square on
Thursday 16th February.

We wish to apologise to DIT Staff, Students and anyone who was affected by
the events leading up to The Mystery Rag Trip.

We are extremely disappointed that this event, out of an otherwise
successful Rag Week, was marred by such disappointing scenes yesterday.

Whilst every measure was put in place to organise a safe trip, including the
elimination of alcohol on the buses, we were unprepared for the actions of
some of our membership prior to departure.

Whilst DITSU will do everything possible to help students deal with problems
around alcohol, we will show no tolerance for those who having abused
alcohol then proceed to abuse the rights of others.

DITSU would like to acknowledge and thank all staff that assisted us during
the event."


What happened?

People just left the place in a state. They were handed out black bags and asked to put the cans etc in them but most of them didn't bother.
