Has anyone ever had stained glass panels made.
I am getting two made with double glazing and the stained glass encased in the middle.
    They are 1030mm x 615mm.
The glass is toughened and unbreakable!
The cost is 850 for the two, not fitted.
There are not that many places which supply this type of thing so I haven't much to go on.
Does anyone have any idea if that price seems ok?

    Hi Soledad,

The price looks more than fair considering a few years ago you would have been stuck with going to a large firm specialising in church work.

Now that would have been painful.

hi Soledad, do you mind if I ask where you are getting the stained glass from as i was hoping to put stained glass panels next to the front door. The choice the window supplier is giving me is either clear or frosted glass and i don't like the idea of either. Also, will you fit the glass yourself?

    Hi

I use elaborate glass in furniture making and the guy I use is very good. He specialises in stained glass and stuff and makes double glazed units etc etc. He also fits glass panels and all that...

The Joiner who made our door will fit the glass as Barry Curtin said it would be a cheaper option to get someone local to us to do this rather than get him to travel though he was wiling to travel.

Thanks Soledad & Joe, Will check out the Limerick # since we are building in Galway and it would be closer to collect.

The top of my landing is quite dark due to the fact that i've no skylight.I thought it'd be nice to have a circular satined glass window at the top of the hall, letting in light from the bathroom.Would that be expensive does anybody know?

dderd, we are getting a full length stained glass window for our house (450mm x 4680mm almost from floor to roof ) and its from a guy in tuam co. galway, not sure if that helps you but it might be closer than limerick, he does stained glass for small mirrors right up to restoring old church windows. he has a small workshop at the side of his house and even helped with the design we are going to use.

our stained glass is costing €1750 and he will instal it but we have to source the frame ourselves and he will supply the toughened glass to go over it.

anyway his name is Declan and its Gothic Glass 093 49392.
