Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Kewell was favourite to have the first foul on Neville, and delivered! My money was on Gerrard at 14/1... :(

    4/1 H Kewell
    9/2 P Crouch
    5/1 J-A Riise
    7/1 M Sissoko
    14/1 S Gerrard
    25/1 J Carragher
    33/1 L Garcia
    50/1 S Finnan

    - Ronaldo's "crap cross" counter: 1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 582 ✭✭✭damienom

They have Neville rattled - he's not on his game at all today!

****e - Kewell just wide...go on the Bean pole 1-0

Thats man marking for you, he would never have had that chance in a zonal system. Twice the ddefence carved apart, man marking v zonal, lets see how it turns out eh.

If zonal can be exploited by good teams, how easy is it to expose man marking with strikers who are poor by man u fans accounts.

Gwan the crouch, he bent down to score that one.

Liverpool are totally dominating midfield - United aren't getting a look in. Ferguson's going to have to go five in midfield.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,390 ✭✭✭galwaydude

another close one for utd with finnan nearly scoring

Maybe you didnt notice but its Liverpool v ManU, or have you done a PHB and assumed its at Old Trafford.

    1-0, should be 2-0

Nice trickery by Ronaldo but as usual no end product...

liverpools in total control of this game

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,199 ✭✭✭Jimi-Spandex

Haha. Rooney kisses the badge. Classy Kop fans throw stuff at him.

United lucky to be going in only one behind. Lack of Rio and a midfield is hurting. Look a bit better now we're back to 442.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

Firstly, this has been a woeful match, and its due to the ref allowing the first foul on Neville as not a yellow. There is a foul from both sides about every 2 minutes, because theres no incentive not to. Ronaldo has been fouled 6 times, and the game has absolutely no flow.

Liverpool have dominated in midfield, but not created many chances. It is actually a lot like the game before, where Liverpool dominated, and pushed from set pieces, and this time they scored, because of terrible defending from Vidic. Neville btw should be subbed for this preformance.
Rio is quite clearly being missed in this game, nobody to organise the defense.

I have no idea what Fergie can do to turn this around, Richardson needs to come off, maybe Smith on just to get a physical presence in midfield. Maybe push Rooney into midfield, take off Richardson, bring on Saha. I don't know, but midfield needs to be fixed. It isn't a threat to us, but it is totlaly stopping out play, and we can't score unless something is done.

Man Utd look like half a team. The Pool midfield is so quick, so snappy in the tackle and pass. I thought the Hamann/Sissoko axis would work well, Smith must come on for Fletcher.

PHB you are truly a dillusional fan, 'your midfield is not a threat to you'?, its your main flaw!

    Mike.

Was waiting for the excuses, and here they come already..

Gerrard, Hamann and Kewell are not a threat.

Kewell Running Man u ragged and they are having alot of trouble with him.

United lucky too not to concede a pen too for giggs in the box foul on Harry K.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,545 ✭✭✭Green_Martian

Utd need to sort out the midfield.........they are doing nothing out there

Richardson or Fletcher, or even both, need to come off...........

have to say was a litlle worried when i seen rooney getting treatment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,373 ✭✭✭Dr Galen

what are you talking about.... that was an excellent tackle on neville by kewell.....;)

now although i'd rather he wasn't fouling people but isn't it good to see Kewell having some passsion in the shirt. tho not the player he was at least he is starting to come good for the team. is this the rafa influence coming thro?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,800 ✭✭✭county

you cant make any excuses for that first half performence

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,545 ✭✭✭Green_Martian

it was Giggs who made the tackle

Liverpool are all over them. They are winning 90% of the balls in midfield and keeping the ball well. Thus far Im really happy with how they are playing, specially in midfield. Morientes is also looking good!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

Well it was a shoulder charge with the ball already away, ref is doing an ok job. Kewell deserved a yellow, Pool deserved a pen.

The ref had a decent game, just because fergie started crapping on about the ref, doesnt mean its his fault that united are playing ****.

Havent you said "where did people get this idea that liverpool dominated?". :D Agree on the Rio and Neville points though. Liverpool have it easier this game though, the players arent backing off like last time.

    Agree with the rest.

Tickets wouldn't be the easiest to get hold of, preference going to previous FA Cup ticket purchasers and season ticket holders as well as ManU using the full 15% allocation.

What a woeful match,no flow to it at all

Fletcher needs to be taken off,as does Richardson, and how is Saha not playing on recent form?Disgraceful.

The 'Pool midfield are controlling the game,it will be won and lost there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,541 ✭✭✭Davei141

    Saha for sylvestre?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,545 ✭✭✭Green_Martian

Saha is coming on for Silvestre

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

Tried to apply through my fancard but could not get through, were sold out quite quickly too and did not get to general sale.. There are 1200 less seats available too since man u have the bigger allocation.

    Silvestre off and saha on

I would imagine that will be 3 4 1 2 With rooney sitting between attack and midfield.

Wright made a good comment there, "They might bring Ronaldo on in this half"
