Mov toAvi ? How do I do it?

Mt camera saves movies as mov (Quicktime) but i need to change them to avi to put on dvd. Tried to convert in Quicktime but it is rubbish and locks up each time. Any ideas please

http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html can convert many different formats. Also does batch converts.
