Self Build a Kitchen Island

    Thinking of building a kitchen island (wifey looking for one for ages).

    Does anyone have any advice on how to go about it or good sites for any designs. I've built/installed wardrobes before with materials from the Panelling Centre and would have thought it'd be along the same lines

    Just be aware that if you plan on putting your hob and oven in the island then the hood will set you back close to 1,000 euro. Normal hoods are around 300-400 euro (the ones that are against a wall) :mad:

    Why not get a few kitchen guys to draw up plans for you to get ideas from, most will do this part free of charge anyway.
    You can get great ideas from magazines, there are loads of house ones, including an all Ireland Kitchen guide.
