    What's the context? It can have a huge affect on how it would translate.

    Im not sure I know nothing about Irish,

    a lady I know in the US wants to call her pet this name if possible!

    OK, how about "Mo sciathán de Pharthas"? It literally means my piece of Heaven but doesn't the phrase mean "my darling" or something as well in America?

    Maybe it's a bit unwieldy for a pet name too! Dog names in Irish tend to be less cute!

    I reckon your friend needs to look for a simpler name for this poor unfortunate dog! :rolleyes:
    Seriously, it can be translated(as others have shown), but it's a ridiculously long name for a dog!
    She should just call it something like an Irish varient of Rex maybe - Rí(Ree) meaning 'King'.
