Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Stupid thing for a professional to do, he was getting booked anyway for the tackle at the half way line must have got the rush of blood to the head then. He went right tru Messi with no intention of getting the ball and left the ref with no choice.

    /mayordenis banned for 1 week.

That is his third ban now, it is permanent.

the lads on sky are all agreed that both play acted, saying both players chicken out of going for the ball, but the reason messi doesn't go for it, is because Del Horno is steaming into him with a raised leg.

Lets hope for a more attacking game in the second half.

Yeah I totally agree. You could see that the ref had already decided to book Del Horno for the earlier challenge but then let play go only for Del Horno to fly in like that. I cant really see that he has any ground for complaint.

Im looking for a better second half because the first was pretty poor. One great save from Cech but other than that there was very little goal mouth action.

    Maybe not....Terry scores...1-0 Chelsea

Well, a Motta own goal...but Terry celebrated like he scored

Chelsea deserve some credit for the way they have come out for this second half. Down to 10 men and leading this game. We all know how strong Chelsea are at holding on to what they have. Barca will have to come up with something special if they are going to get anything out of this leg. Lampard was unlucky there not to make it 2.

Larson is on Barca now. On for Motta

Goal Etoo, world class, Ronnie --- Henkrik - Sammy - Andy Gray :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 688 ✭✭✭merlinsmerryman

As a Man Utd(and therefore a neutral) I have to say it's a cracking game of football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,677 ✭✭✭Chong

I love the Andy Gray reference Zabbo.

The Chelsea players look absolutely ragged. If Barca can keep running them into the ground like this, they can get another goal.

  • Registered Users Posts: 688 ✭✭✭merlinsmerryman

Drogba is the worst player on the pitch. Better than Eto'o, what a joke!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,067 ✭✭✭✭Tusky

Barcelona play some mighty pretty football.

    W Bremen equalise, Inter equalise.

    Mike.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,891 ✭✭✭Jammer

All the games look like they were decent, Ajax now 2-2 with inter after being down 2-0, and rangers 2-2 aswel.

    Great 2nd half Chelsea-Barca tho

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

    Bremen go 3-2 up

    Mike.

Very well played to Barca, a joy to watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

RTÉ pundits are talking absolute shíte. Of course Chelsea were the poorer team, they were down to 10 men for most the match. Up until that point, I thought Chelsea did well. Makelele in particular was brilliant.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,005 ✭✭✭CivilServant

Chelsea played heroicly well. If it wasn't for a carvalho mistake, they could of actually won the match. Barcelona's 11 man advantage showed in the end. But don't write Chelsea off. Giles, Dunphy, & Brady overflowing with superlative adjectives for barcelona seem to forget that barca were playing with 11 men vs 10 for the majority of the game. Freakin idiots. Ref ruined the game, terrible decision.
