Swing bracket

    I've dutifully searched the threads and found plenty of advice on [what I think are] static wall-mounted brackets for flat-panel televisions. I'm looking at mounting a 26- to 32-inch LCD television (so, between 15 and 20 kg, probably) off the side wall of the fireplace. Has anyone any comments opinions on whether this is to be recommended? Has anyone done this? Are the arms on these long enough to allow a television of this size to be moved in this way (i.e. so that someone sitting at the window [see attached image] can have the screen turned at least some of the way towards them)? Must these arms be installed so that the point of the wall where it's fixed is directly behind the screen or can they be "side mounted" so the wall fixing is on the right-hand edge (as in picture) of the screen.

    I want the television to be visible from anywhere in the room but not to have it as the focal point of the room. The idea is to be able to face the television any direction (within reason) and also to be able to fold it back "behind" the fireplace so it can't be seen through the front window, at least to the casual observer.

    It's a mid-1950's, corpo-built, terraced house in Dublin, if that helps.
